We have to guard our hearts, minds, and bodies from sin. Temptation is all around and it’s so simple to fall into careless sin patterns because even though our desire is to follow the Lord, our flesh is weak. Being mindful about the boundaries we place to protect our hearts is so valuable. Praying for God’s gracious protection helps to keep our hearts pure.

The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends. (NLT) -Proverbs 11:30

Has someone done something thoughtful for you lately? Have they gone out of their way for you? It's easy to keep moving on or get busy and forget about recognizing them. However, it's important to express to them your grateful heart. Put a little thought into how you want to express your gratitude through friendship.

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. (NLT) -1 John 4:7-8

The thing that sets apart Christ followers from other humans is their ability to truly love others. Love comes from God and those who are a part of his family are charged to love others just as Christ first loved them. What does this God-inspired love look like? It looks like the manifestation of the fruits of the spirit in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control should define the interactions that we have with others.

If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. (NLT) -1 Corinthians 3:14

Do you know your actions matter to Jesus? He tells us that our work will be judged. All that we do with Jesus at the center, we will be rewarded for. All our other efforts in this life, will amount to nothing. When we meet Jesus face to face we will feel the loss of our wasted days and the joy of work done in His name. Are your actions being done with Jesus in mind? Let us live each day with eternity in mind!

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (NLT) -John 16:33

God knows we will face troubles in this world! He is not surprised when opposition, conflict, loss, or inflation become a part of our stories. Thankfully, he offers us eternal assurance that we can cling to when trials come our way! He has overcome this world! Living a peaceful life is attainable when God is on your side. Our joy and hope comes from our Savior and not from the headlines that want to try to rule how we see our lives.

I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. (NLT) -John 17:15

When we become believers God doesn’t whisk us up to Heaven in order to spare us the trials and tribulations that come with being human. God has a different plan which uses his followers of agents that help to bring Heaven down to Earth. God knows there is an evil one that wants to stop you from completing your mission and asks that we are protected from him. As you go about your day ask God for protection from the evil one.

God sometimes asks us to stop and hover. These are the moments when it feels our prayers are not being answered but really He wants you to be still and try not to control things to get the answer you want. It’s an invitation to trust Him and wait while he works behind the scenes in your life.

Where do you turn when your life turns into a mess? How do you pick up the pieces? A mess is always easier to clean when you have someone helping you. God is just waiting for you to invite Him into your mess.

The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the LORD will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy. (NLT) -Psalm 22:26

Are you happy? How long does your happiness last? We can eat an endless buffet, stomachs bulging, but in a mere couple of hours we are hungry again. Isn't it true with happiness? We seek out things we think will make us happy like friendships, money, or even recognition, but that type of happiness never lasts. How can we find this everlasting joy? It comes through praising God. Have you been praising God lately?
