The Groom is Coming!

Scripture: “In my Father’s house are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2)

To understand the end times, look at a Jewish wedding! In Jesus' day, a groom would betroth his bride and then return to his father’s house to build a place for them to live. The bride would wait, prepare her garments, and stay ready—not knowing exactly when he would return. When the place was ready, the groom would come to claim his bride.
Jesus is our Groom, and the Church is His Bride. He is currently preparing a place for us! Our job isn't to argue over timelines, but to be ready, stay pure, and wait with anticipation for the moment He calls us home.

Reflect: If Jesus returned today, would you be ready to meet Him?

Pray: Lord, help me to live every day as Your bride—ready, faithful, and watching for Your return.

Caught Up in Love

Scripture: “Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air...” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

The word "Rapture" comes from the Latin rapturo, meaning to be "caught up." While some find this doctrine confusing or controversial, the heart of it is beautiful: Jesus is coming to get us.
Paul explains that at a time only the Father knows, the Lord will descend with a shout and a trumpet blast. Those who have died in Christ will rise first, and then those still living will be snatched up to meet Him. We won't be left behind; we will be brought home. God’s heart is to be with His people forever.

Reflect: Does the thought of Jesus’ return bring you fear or excitement? Why?

Pray: Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Thank You for the promise that we will one day be with You forever.

Hope That Outlasts the Grave

Scripture: “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

We all face the pain of losing loved ones, but for the believer, the sting of death is different. Paul uses the word "asleep" to describe those who have passed away in Christ. Why? Because when a believer’s body stops working, their spirit keeps living!

We grieve because we miss them, but we don't grieve like those who have no hope. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we have the absolute certainty that we will see our brothers and sisters in Christ again. Death isn't a goodbye; it's a "see you later."

Reflect: Is there someone you are missing today? Take a moment to thank God for the promise of eternal life.

Pray: Jesus, thank You for conquering the grave and giving us a hope that never fades.

Discernment in the Last Days

"See to it that no one misleads you." – Jesus (Matthew 24:4) 🛡️

When Daniel describes the final 7-year period (the 70th week), he mentions a "prince" who makes a covenant—a peace deal?—only to break it. This figure, the Antichrist, won’t appear "evil" at first. He will be a deceptive, peaceful leader who fools many because he is a master of the "fake."

In a culture that prioritizes feeling good over being right, how do we stay grounded?

Know the Word: You can’t spot a counterfeit if you don’t know the original.
Be Led by the Spirit: Don't just follow what sounds good; follow what is Holy.
Stay Alert: The enemy loves to copy the Father, but he can never replicate the Truth.

We are called to be the Body of Christ, discerning and sharp. Don’t let the "peace" of the world distract you from the Prince of Peace.

Understanding Sin, Iniquity, and Grace
Is there a difference between a "mistake" and "rebellion"? 🏹

In the study of Daniel 9:24, we see God’s plan to bring an end to "sin" and "iniquity." But to understand the victory, we have to understand the problem.

Think of a target range:
Sin: This is missing the bullseye. Maybe you were in a hurry, got sloppy, or just missed. It’s in our nature to fall short of God's perfect standard.
Iniquity: This is more premeditated. It’s when we knowingly ignore the target or decide to make up our own rules entirely.

The good news? The 70-week prophecy reminds us that God has a definitive expiration date for both. Through Christ, atonement has been made. We no longer have to live under the weight of our misses or our rebellions. We are called to walk in his everlasting righteousness.

"Sin is missing the mark; Iniquity is pretending there is no mark to hit."

The Church Age and Our Purpose

Did you know you are living in a "divine pause" in history? ⏳
In Daniel 9, we see a timeline of 70 "weeks" (periods of seven years) that outline God’s plan for the world. We’ve seen 69 of those weeks come to pass with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. But then... God hit the pause button.

Why? For you.
Between the 69th and the 70th week, God created a gap. This is the Church Age. It’s not a waiting room; it’s a mission field. Ezekiel 22 tells us that God is looking for people to "stand in the gap"—to be the ones who pray, act, and protect others through the Gospel.
The Reality: If the only goal was to get to Heaven, you’d be there the moment you said "I believe."

You are here to be the hands and feet of Jesus. You are the light in the current darkness.

How are you using the "gap" in God’s timeline to reach someone else today?

The Messiah we can Count On 📏

As we wrap up our week, it all comes down to one question: Do you know Jesus?

The prophecy in Daniel 9:26 said the Messiah would be "cut off". An intentional reference to Jesus being rejected and killed. Jesus’ death was foretold. He came to provide a way for all of us to be saved.
The prophetic message from the angel Gabriel, the history, the 70 weeks, not only point to the last days and the future, but also points to the Messiah Jesus and the future He brings.
If you’ve been "on the fence" about your faith, let the precision of God’s Word give you the confidence to jump in. He loved you enough to plan your rescue long before you were born.

What is stopping you from giving Him your whole heart today?

Jesus’ Triumphal Entry and crucifixion marked the end of 69th week of God’s message to Daniel but that isn’t the end of the story. Join us this Sunday as we explore the 70th week.
