What a joy it was to celebrate Carol this past Sunday as she officially retired from nearly 60 years of faithful music ministry!

For decades, Carol has used her incredible gifts to glorify God, lead worship, and help countless people draw closer to Jesus through music. Her dedication, faithfulness, and love for the Lord have made a lasting impact on our church family and the Kingdom of God.

We are so grateful for the countless hours she has devoted to serving God and His people. While we will certainly miss her faithful presence in this role, we are excited for her as she begins this new chapter of life.

Thank you, Carol, for your years of service, your beautiful music, and your unwavering commitment to Christ. Your ministry has touched more lives than you may ever know.

After nearly 60 years of faithfully serving our church as organist, Carol is retiring, and we want to take a moment to say thank you.

For decades, Carol’s beautiful music has helped lead us in worship, creating moments that have drawn countless people closer to Jesus. Her incredible talent has been a blessing, but even more inspiring has been her unwavering dedication, servant’s heart, and deep love for Christ.

Carol has faithfully shared her gifts with our church family. Her ministry has touched generations, and we are so grateful for the many ways she has helped connect people to Jesus through music.

Join us this Sunday for a Retirement Celebration immediately following our Sunday Morning Worship Experience as we honor Carol and her extraordinary years of service.

Every single week, our Worship Team pours their hearts out to help lead us into the presence of God. What they do is so much more than music. It is ministry. Through every note played and every song sung, they help create moments where lives can be changed, hope can be restored, and hearts can encounter God.

Worship is powerful. It reminds us that we are not alone, that God is moving, and that faith grows stronger when we come together as a community. There is something truly special about lifting our voices together in one place, united in praise.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Worship Team for your dedication, your talent, your servant hearts, and the countless hours you give behind the scenes. Your faithfulness helps lead our church into worship every week, and it does not go unnoticed. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

Week after week, something powerful happens through the music ministry at First Baptist Church of Girard.

Behind every song is more than just music. There is sacrifice. There are long days, full schedules, and still a choice to show up and give their very best. There are rehearsals that no one sees and moments of preparation that often go unnoticed.

And yet, every single week, they step forward and offer what God has placed inside of them.

What they give matters more than words can fully express.

In moments when hearts feel heavy or words are hard to find, their voices and gifts carry the room. They help turn ordinary Sundays into sacred moments. They create space for people to encounter God, to reflect, to heal, and to be reminded they are not alone.

This is more than music. This is ministry.

To every person who serves in this way, thank you for the consistency, the dedication, and the heart behind every note. Thank you for loving this church so deeply and serving so faithfully.

We would truly appreciate your prayers this week.

Pastor Dan, Truman Carter III, and Truman Carter IV are spending time at a church leadership conference at Christ Church in Fairview Heights, IL. This has been such a meaningful opportunity for us to step away, learn, and seek God’s direction together.

We are especially grateful to Shane L. Bishop for creating space like this for leaders to grow, be encouraged, and be challenged. It is already making an impact on us.

Please pray that we stay open to what God is doing, that we gain wisdom we can bring back home, and that we continue to lead with faith, humility, and purpose.

Leadership is a journey, and I’ll be the first to say I still have a lot to learn. One of the ways I’m growing as your pastor is by spending time with strong, faithful church leaders who have wisdom and experience to share.

Today I had the opportunity to meet with Pastor Dean, someone I deeply respect and look up to. He has taught me so much about church management, leadership, and what it means to truly shepherd people well.

I’m grateful for conversations like these. They help shape the vision and direction of where God is leading us as a church. The future is bright, and I’m committed to leading us there with humility, growth, and faith.
