ATHEISTS ASK "WHO CREATED GOD?"

Answer: NOTHING

God is necessary because without Him nothing else can exist at all.

Everything we observe in reality is contingent. It exists but it did not have to exist. Stars burn out. Universes expand. Matter changes. Time moves forward. Anything that begins, changes, or depends on something else for its existence cannot be the ultimate explanation for reality. Contingent things cannot explain themselves. If everything were contingent, then nothing would exist now. There would be no foundation to hold reality up.

That is why God must be eternal, uncaused, and uncreated. He does not belong to the category of created things. He is not a part of the universe. He is the reason the universe exists. God is immaterial because matter itself began. He is timeless because time began. He is necessary because His non existence is impossible. If God did not exist, nothing could exist. He is existence itself, not merely a being within it.

God is also personal and intelligent because impersonal forces do not choose, plan, or purpose. Laws of nature describe behavior but they do not create anything. Information does not arise from chaos. Order does not arise from nothing. The universe contains information, rational structure, moral awareness, and personal beings. These things only come from a personal, intelligent source. An eternal mind is the only sufficient explanation.

God did not come from anywhere because coming from somewhere implies dependence. God depends on nothing. He simply is. He is the unmovable foundation beneath all reality. As Scripture declares, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” Without God, reason collapses, morality dissolves, and existence itself becomes unintelligible. God is not a hypothesis added to reality. He is the reason reality exists at all.

Little Things
We seem to be conscious only of the monumental. We are impressed with big salaries, big cars, big houses, and big people. Perhaps as never before we need to be reminded that little things mean a lot.

Let it never be forgotten that glamour is not greatness, applause is not fame, noise is not influence, prominence is not eminence. The man of the hour is not apt to be the man of the ages.

A stone may sparkle, but that does not make it a diamond; a man may have money, but that does not make him a success; a student may be clever, but that does not make him a philosopher. It is what the unimportant do that really counts and determines the course of history.

The greatest forces in the universe are never spectacular. Summer showers are more effective than hurricanes, but they get no publicity. The world would soon die but for the fidelity, loyalty, and consecration of those whose names are unsung. There is, therefore, no life, however humble, but may take its place in the building of a greater and better tomorrow. It is so easy to exaggerate the importance of the important and to underestimate the importance of the unimportant.

In the home little things are important—a kind word, a sweet disposition, a loving touch. These are big in making the marriage relationship what it ought to be. And in business little things mean a lot—honesty, dependability, and loyalty. And in the Christian life they mean a lot too. A cup of cold water given in Christ’s name shall not go unrewarded. Someone has said, “He who is a Christian in the small things is no small Christian.”

Don’t be completely caught up by the spirit of the age. Little things are important too.
