Rollen C McCartney passed away on July 18th 2026 surrounded by family at Vita care assisted living under the care of Hope Hospice. Rollen C McCartney was born on March 4th 1947 to the late Ernest and Ella (Cammack) McCartney. Rollen married the love of his life; Violet Kroeplin on May 26, 1973. She passed away on May 5, 1996. Rollen attended school in Ely, MN for a couple years before returning to Gilman after school Rollen worked numerous jobs that allowed him to travel around the world. In Rollen’s later years he worked at Drangle’s Cheese factor and spent 12 1/2 years working at the Gilman Corner Store before retiring.

Rollen enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Rollen had a generous heart and would give his last dollar to anyone in need. Rollen will be tremendously missed by his friends and family.

Rollen is survived by His daughter Joelle McCartney, and numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Ella, his wife Violet, and his Granddaughter Rebecca McCartney.

Funeral will be held on July 23rd 2026; Visitation will be from 10 am to 11am funeral to follow at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Hannibal with Pastor Beverly Thompson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Meadowbrook Cemetery-Gilman.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to Vita Care assisted living for caring for Rollen along with Hope Hospice for the special care they provided to him.

Eileen Roback, 96, formerly of Gilman passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. She was born Edith Eileen Beadles on January 21, 1930, at the family home in Jump River, Wisconsin. The daughter of the late Zenas and Edith May (Wheeler) Beadles, Eileen grew up there and attended the Jump River Woodland School and Hannibal High School. She married William “Bill” Rhamey in June of 1947. Together they farmed in Jump River, Wisconsin until Bill’s death in February of 1968. During this time, Bill and Eileen had four children: Twins Scott and Joe, and daughters Mary and Barbie.

Eileen married Stanley “Rusty” Roback in September 1969 and moved to Lublin, Wisconsin where they farmed until their retirement in 1993. Rusty had Elmer, Colin, Jody and Ron and they merged their families together on the Lublin Farm, along with having Craig in 1971. Upon their retirement from farming, they moved to Gilman, Wisconsin. Attending the Senior Center in Gilman was one of her favorite things to do daily where she ate lunch and played cards with her friends.

She enjoyed square dancing, polka dancing, playing card games, camping, snowmobiling, word games and puzzles, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Eileen was very active in the community and various organizations including the Hugh Warner VFW Auxiliary for 76 years, a member of the Gilman Senior Center for over 30 years and an active volunteer there. She also served on various election Boards for surrounding townships, was a member of the Home Makers Club, and a member of the Western Whirlers Square Dancing Club.

She is survived by 8 children and stepchildren, Elmer (Nid), Jody, Scott (Barb), Joe (Sharon), Mary (John) Ron (Barb), Barb (Ed) and Craig (Sharon), 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Bill and Rusty, her stepson, Colin, her siblings, Lee, Marvin, Don, Dewey, Elna, Ray, Jeannie and two in infancy: Harmon and Zenas.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the New Hope Presbyterian Church in Hannibal, Wi. with Rev. Beverly Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Nebo Cemetery in Jump River, Wi. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Gilman Funeral Home and Monday morning at the church one hour prior to the service.
