CAST Ministries

CAST Ministries CAST(Christian Anglers Serving Together) is a bass fishing ministry. Our goal is to spread the Word of Jesus Christ. What is CAST?

Our goal is to spread the Word of Jesus Christ through this wonderful sport we call fishing. We also would like to provide good fellowship among our members while at the same time providing a competitive fishing environment. We have a unique format in which only one person from each boat is required to be a member of the club in order to fish our tournaments. This allows us to use the ministry as

an outreach by inviting fishermen who might not know Christ. This ministry was created from the inspiration of the Lord. We feel that as long as we seek the Lord’s will and give Him credit for all of our success, He will bless this ministry for many years to come.

I'm sorry for the late post, but it was a busy weekend and even busier Monday. But this past Saturday we had our 4th tournament of the year on the big pond and went out of Big Bear. We had another nice turnout of 18 boats and and absolutely beautiful weather. We started the day with devotion and prayer. The title of the devotion was Spiritual Stamina. Here are 7 quick suggestions for building this stamina and you can start today. For the next week commit to reading the Bible, everyday. Do the exact same spiritual disciplines at the same time everyday. If you are new to praying or are unsure of what to pray for, read the Lords Prayer, Matt 6:9-13. Pray before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Get some type of bracelet that when you look at it it reminds you of the Lord. If you have any habits or addictions that keep you from God, tell yourself repeatedly that you do not need those things to be happy, God is all you need. For the next week listen to one song everyday that lifts you up and reminds you of God. For the next week do something nice for someone everyday. Doing these things will change your life and draw you closer to God.
The fishing was a mixed bag on Saturday as some nice weights were brought in while others struggled. Taking 1st place was Ryan Kirkpatrick and Barrett Washburn with a 3 fish limit at 10lbs 10oz. They also had big fish with a nice 4lb 11 oz. Smallie. Great job gentlemen. In 2nd place was Ty Redden and Cody Lovett with 3 fish at 10lbs 3oz. In 3rd place was Mark and Elaine Allen with 3 fish at 8lbs 10oz. And in 4th was Andy Powers and Gerald Andrew's with 3 fish at 8lbs 2 Oz. Congratulations to our winners. Our next tournament is our annual co-ed tournament out of Jonathan Creek on May 30.

Yesterday, Saturday April 25, was our annual tournament on Lake Beshear. We started our morning with devotion and prayer. The devotion title was preparing for heaven. I read John 14 verses 1-3. God loves us so much that he has gone to great efforts to prepare a glorious city for our final destination for eternity. Shouldn't we be preparing now for that day. We can do this by thinking of God as much as possible, praying as much as possible, being generous, sharing the Gospel, and being faithful. Doing these things warms us up for heaven. Our greatest gift from God is Himself. Our greatest gift to God is total surrender.
We had a beautiful day to be out on the water. The fishing proved to be tougher than we anticipated with only 1 limit out of 16 boats. We allowed a 5 fish limit for this tournament on Beshear. Coming in 1st and with the only limit was Randy and Debbie Johnson with 5 fish at 12lbs 3 Oz. In 2nd with only two fish was Tim and Matthew Yates at 9lbs 11oz. In 3rd was Jerry Goheen and Chuck Rounds with 3 fish at 8lbs. Big fish of the day went to Tim and Matt with a 4lb 13 oz largemouth. Congratulations to our winners.
The winner of the GSM Outdoors lure give away was Alfred Goldsberry and Brian Crawford. Thanks again to GSM Outdoors. Thanks to all our sponsors, Fast Eddies, Precision Sonar, and Fatz' Fishing Baits.
