Tomorrow is the Feast of St. Joseph and the day Bishop David Malloy celebrates the Thanksgiving Mass for all the prayer petitions and donations received from the 2020 annual appeal. The Mass will can be viewed right here tomorrow at 5 p.m. March 19.

REMINDER: Bishop David Malloy today issued the following information for March 19, 2021 only.

In response to inquiries the Diocese of Rockford has received, it has issued the following statement. In conformity with canon 1251 of the Code of Canon Law, the abstinence from meat normally required on all Fridays of Lent does not need to be observed by the Roman Catholic Faithful on Friday, March 19, 2021, because that is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph. No other dispensation is required from the law on abstinence should one wish to eat meat on Friday, March 19, 2021.
