Hello all of my dear friends and customers. After much deliberation, thoughts, and prayers, I have decided to not make a Christmas delivery trip this year. I appreciate all of your love and support with the past deliveries! To visit with missionaries (in airports and in the field), senior couples, and even meet Mission Presidents and to tell every Uber driver what I am doing and profess of Christ, all have been incredible experiences I shall never forget!

Bags to Tags has been an incredible season of my life and I am forever grateful for the opportunities I have had to serve your missionaries. South Africa and our sweet missionaries are forever in my heart. It truly is a special place!

Honestly, I would love to go again, but the spirit is telling me no. And I may have cried a little when I truly accepted this answer. It's funny how that works, when you get an answer you don't want so you keep trying to work through the question only to keep getting the same answer over and over.

At this point I do not know when I will make another delivery. I will keep this page open for the possibility!

I do believe LDXpress is making trips to South Africa if you desire to send packages. They have a page and a website.

Hello all of my beautiful friends! Thank you for patiently waiting for updates about the next delivery.

Life has been so busy! While I would love to travel now, it's just not feasible. I am shooting for a delivery in July or August.

Absolutely I will be traveling in November for a Christmas delivery!!

I thank you for your patience and loyalty!

If you have to get things to your elder fairly quickly, I would check into LDSxpress. Or look into Take-a-Lot or South Africa Amazon. These both are are limited in some of their offerings like locale, they do offer a great service.

Woolworths also does online ordering so you can shop and pay online and your Elder can just pick up. They do not offer delivery.

And! The LDS distribution center in Johannesburg ships right to the mission office for your elder! If they need new garments, they are much more affordable! Again, you shop online and they ship it to him.

Pro-tip... buy some fresh, new ones for him to bring home!!

I have not forgotten about scheduling the next delivery! Life this last year has added some great changes and I'm trying to make it all work. Please know Bags to Tags and our sweet missionaries are dear to my heart and I'm trying to make it all fit together!

As it is now, the next delivery will be at least in mid-April or mid-May!

Did you guys know you can do pickup orders at Woolworths for your missionaries? Shop and pay online at your Elders' closest Woolies and they can go pick it up! Schedule pickups for their PDays!! I loved picking out foods I know they wouldn't normally purchase due to budget constraints.

Also, Amazon has started in South Africa but so far we have not heard raving reviews. Take-A-Lot is still the preferred choice.

Burger King also has online digital gift cards! Purchase online and send your elder the info! In some areas, there are not Woolworths but there are BKs! (This is the only fast food I purchased from. Maybe others do it too!)

Some of Cape Town has been delivered! Since I am visiting my son's areas with him, we have been in East London, King Williams Town, and Port Elizabeth. We were able to hand most of these packages straight to the elders themselves!! We had permission to attend zone conference and it was amazing. One of the best spiritual boosts I've had in a long time!

Durban mission is delivered! Sis Peterson is going home in five days. She is a lovely lady who loves the missionaries! She will be missed! Sis Young is new and was there and I am so glad to meet her!

Storytime!!

We did have a bit of a hiccup with one of our bags. Delta decided that one of my Durban bags, along with several other people's bags, were the chosen ones to stay an extra day in Atlanta. I did have a little freakout on the plane as I watched our pile of bags sit on the tarmac as we started to push back. With only 12 hours in Johannesburg, I had no time to wait for the next flight to come in. This bag MUST COME WITH ME!! The flight attendants were great at calming all of us down. And there wasn't anything I could do. The pilot will not go back to the gate. (Apparently , this is a thing on this flight because of the distance. Weight issues happen often because they can only carry so much fuel. (Side note in the side note...these planes are 200k pounds. My 32 lb duffel is the breaking point? Well, maybe 8 32lb bags plus whatever else by way of cargo got left behind.) All of this knowledge doesn't make it any less troublesome!)

Delta has assured me they will deliver the tardy duffel to the mission office for me. Sis Peterson knows and is anxiously awaiting the late boxes for me. The affected parents have been notified and have been so gracious!

Also, it was a sweet tender Mercy for me knowing it was the Holy Ghost who spoke in my mind in the middle of the night before we left, that I needed to put all of one mission in each bag. Usually, I pack them however they can fit and sort through them at each destination. That meant unpacking everything and repacking. So glad I followed that prompting! Every package in that last duffel goes to Durban. Phew! Thank you Heavenly Father for watching out!

Johannesburg mission is delivered!
(I didn't get each package front in the frame but they are all there!! Elders Lawrence, Young, Hennessey, Palmer, Smithson, Bowser, Koenig, Shupe!

Elders Bradshaw and Henrie for Pretoria are also there. The mission office will get those packages transferred for us!

We will be doing a Christmas 🎄 delivery in late November!! I'm so excited for this delivery! I don't have exact dates yet though it's looking like after Thanksgiving 🦃.

Start getting your packages together! Time is flying by! I'll be posting exact dates very soon! Keep in my mind, I'll need them by November 22nd!! (My grandma's 91st birthday! 🎉)

Side story....
I really wanted to go the week of Thanksgiving. The short work week makes it easier to take time off from my real job. But now my niece just got engaged and announced the wedding 👰🏼 is that week! So Bags to Tags will have to wait until after the wedding festivities. Stayed tuned for updates and signups!!
