Pastor's Notes - June 2026

Hello Beloved!

We have been studying the Book of Acts this last month or so on Wednesday nights. It has been so good just to wade through the water of the WORD with friends. Acts chapter 2 is well known passage to the Lord’ disciples. It is the recounting of the day of Pentecost, on which the Christian Church was born. And on that day as the Holy Spirit is poured out on a congregation of 120 of Jesus’ followers, Peter begins to preach…

“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. “For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. ‘THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE; BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. ‘YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.’ (Acts 2:22-28)

Peter, in his declaration, repeating Psalm 16:8-11, is reminding the Church and his countrymen, that we should always look to the LORD in every circumstance. For if we make our abode in the Father’s Presence, if we is always at His right hand, what ever comes our way, we won’t be shaken. If we could only live in the hope, that the Father is ALWAYS faithful, and He will never recant on His promises. Trusting in Him, He will never abandon our soul to Hades. And He will show us the way of LIFE and as His face shines on us, our gladness will be made FULL!

Beloved, declare with Peter… “‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ (Acts 2:21)

Blessings, in Jesus name,
Pastor Greg

Pastor's Notes - May 2026

Hello Beloved!

I was reading the prophet Ezekiel this morning in chapter 37. He was telling of his encounter with the Father. He was brought to a strange, awesome, and awe-filled place. There the Father gives Ezekiel a command AND a promise. The command demanded a trust in the Father, so profound, yet with an expectation of a seemingly impossible outcome!

“The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’ “Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath (ruach) to enter you that you may come to life. ‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath (ruach) in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.’ ” (Ezekiel 37:1-6)

Beloved, I don’t know about you but I think we all go through some “dry spells” now and then. Seasons where we long to see the rain of the LORD in our lives (you know I’m not talking about physical rain, right?) But these bones, laying all “scattered around” had become so dry that they had come apart from what originally held them in place, AND held them together!

Oh Beloved, the prescription from the Great Physician for this extraordinary dryness is right here in the text! Speak to them Ezekiel! “O Lord, what do I say?!?!” The reply. “O dry bones, hear the Word of the LORD!”

Oh Beloved, if we would only speak the word of the Lord over each other. What does Paul say?

"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to reckless indiscretion. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Ephesians 5:18-20)

And when those words fall on us, the Promise comes… ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to LIFE! Oh, what a good, good God we serve!

Blessings and Peace in Jesus name!
Pastor Greg
