Pastor's Notes - June 2026
Hello Beloved!
We have been studying the Book of Acts this last month or so on Wednesday nights. It has been so good just to wade through the water of the WORD with friends. Acts chapter 2 is well known passage to the Lord’ disciples. It is the recounting of the day of Pentecost, on which the Christian Church was born. And on that day as the Holy Spirit is poured out on a congregation of 120 of Jesus’ followers, Peter begins to preach…
“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. “For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. ‘THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE; BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. ‘YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.’ (Acts 2:22-28)
Peter, in his declaration, repeating Psalm 16:8-11, is reminding the Church and his countrymen, that we should always look to the LORD in every circumstance. For if we make our abode in the Father’s Presence, if we is always at His right hand, what ever comes our way, we won’t be shaken. If we could only live in the hope, that the Father is ALWAYS faithful, and He will never recant on His promises. Trusting in Him, He will never abandon our soul to Hades. And He will show us the way of LIFE and as His face shines on us, our gladness will be made FULL!
Beloved, declare with Peter… “‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ (Acts 2:21)
Blessings, in Jesus name,
