The power is out at church this morning. According to the outage map it looks to be isolated to 27 households around the church. Peninsula Light has arrived and we hope it will be restored before worship begins.

Today, we honor the memory of the Emanuel Nine and continue to commit ourselves to the work of justice, reconciliation and faith.

"Creator God,

You lovingly created every person in Your beautiful image. We confess that we have not loved and protected Your beloved creation well. Racism and hate continue to blossom, disfiguring Your beautiful and divine plan for human life.

Help our unbelief, O God, in the realities of racism and oppression; remove the scales from our eyes and our hearts. Forgive us for our participation, both knowingly and unknowingly, in its flourishing. Give us the courage to remember and share these true stories of cruelty and injustice, and those who, because of it, lost their lives and freedom. Grant us determination and an accountable community to interrupt these unjust systems. Help us to use our voices, our agency, and our faith to advocate for justice.

🏳️‍🌈 Next Saturday (June 20th), Rainbow Center will be presenting an LGBTQIA2S+ Allyship course hosted by Agnus Dei Lutheran Church as we introduce our S(ALLY)FE ZONE 🏳️‍🌈

💕 Becoming a good ally to anyone involves being aware of your position in the world – what power do you have to create positive changes in others’ lives and make their struggles easier? With this training, we hope attendees walk away with the tools to:

👉 Understand the foundational elements of what it means to be LGBTQIA2S+
👉 Recognize barriers and disparities to the LGBTQIA2S+ community throughout history
👉 Strengthen LGBTQIA2S+ support and advocacy skills by providing actionable steps and education.

You can join us on June 20th Agnus Dei Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor from 1PM - 3PM as we educate, advocate, and celebrate what the LGBTQIA2S+ community is and how those outside our community can become better allies this Pride Month.
