Thrive Harbor

Thrive Harbor Thrive is a Christ-centered community for young adults ages 18-28. We meet every Thursday night! Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit."

"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Thrive seeks "to glorify God by making disciples of all nations"

VISION: “To glorify God...”

From the beginning of Scr

ipture to the end, we clearly see that God’s supreme passion in the world is Himself - to display His glory. In fact everything God does is ultimately for the sake of His name. As His church we want to align ourselves with God’s purposes. Therefore, we exist for God. Our supreme desire is to be a people who passionately knows, loves and glorifies God, thereby displaying His incomparable beauty and infinite worth for the entire world to see. We want to be God-centered and wholeheartedly make much of Him in all we do. MISSION: “... by making disciples...”

Our mission is clear, as followers of Christ we have been given a clear command to “make disciples.” To make disciples is to evangelize, reaching lost souls with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to see every believer transformed by the work of Jesus on the cross. This transformation produces disciple-making disciples– one truly transformed into Christ-likeness will share Jesus’ love for the world and obey his command to make disciples. No matter one’s gifting, vocation or personality Jesus has commissioned each of us to spend our lives making disciples. It is to be “the” mission of every person who confesses Jesus as Lord. GOAL: “... of all nations.”

Our ultimate goal is to impact the nations for the glory of Christ. Our goal is not simply to be a place of ministry, but a base of ministry. By the grace of God we will strive with all of our might to faithfully be hands on in God’s global mission of redeeming a people for Himself from all the peoples. We will sacrificially give our time, energy and resources towards becoming a mission-sending base which develops disciplemaking disciples and deploys them all over the planet. We long for God’s glory to be extended to the ends of the earth with multiplying disciples who know, love and glorify Him from every tongue, tribe and nation.

Wishing a very happy birthday today to Thrive's Director Emeritus, Tim Cedarland! 🥳

Tim and his wife Karen started Thrive in 2012 out of a desire to see young adults know and follow Jesus. Today, literally thousands of young adults have come through Thrive's doors all over the South Sound because of their faithful ministry.

Got a favorite memory of Tim & Karen? Tell us in the comments! 📣

The Bible calls Christians to have concern for those in need. With many in our community struggling to afford groceries with recent cuts to SNAP benefits, multiple churches and community organizations in Gig Harbor are stepping up to help! If you would like to pitch in, see this post for locations around the city where you can drop off nonperishable food items.

UPDATE 11/3: Additional donation sites listed below.

UPDATE 10/31: Additional donation sites listed below.

Gig Harbor families will soon lose access to food.

Due to the federal government shutdown, roughly 15% of Pierce County residents are facing food insecurity and hunger. This includes our 11,000 federal workers who are currently not receiving a paycheck and our 115,000 residents who receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) benefits that are set to lose funding on Nov. 1.

Additionally, the WIC (Women Infant and Child) program will lose funding mid-November. There are nearly 2,500 infants in Pierce County who depend on WIC for their formula. Without WIC funding, families will face the possibility that their babies will starve.

Together we can (and will) help. Support the city’s formula & food drives to support local families who are being gravely affected by the government shutdown. Every contribution helps a neighbor stay fed, housed, and healthy.

Here’s how to help:
