Transforming Communities Workshop

Are you longing for greater clarity about who your congregation is becoming? Wondering how to connect your identity with the needs of the neighborhood around you in ways that feel faithful and life-giving? The Transforming Communities Workshop invites you into a two-day, guided space to explore your context, listen deeply to your community, and practice the tools that help churches design meaningful, adaptive ministry. Together we’ll focus on practical skills that support long-term mission alignment, sustainable impact, and help communities respond faithfully and effectively to the changing environment around them. Regular cost will be $499, but for OlyPres participants it will be $349 with the code OLYMPIAATTENDEESTCW2026. Register at olypres.org

Welcome Jennifer. We're looking forward to working with you as the Stated Clerk of Synod of Alaska-Northwest

Welcome Jennifer. We're looking forward to working with you as the Stated Clerk of Synod of Alaska-Northwest

New Synod Stated Clerk
Rev. Jennifer Pattee is a PC(USA) minister who enjoys the supporting roles in ministry that build and equip other leaders. As a minister, she taught at the University of Dubuque for the undergraduate program and seminary, served as a solo pastor, and most recently is also the Stated Clerk of Pacific Presbytery in Los Angeles. With a background in mathematics, she keeps the analytical part of her soul entertained by assisting an accountant with clergy tax preparation.

Originally from Idaho, Jennifer was ordained in the Boise Presbytery, with family still in Idaho and Washington. She especially experiences the wonder of God's creation when gazing at tall mountains and sitting near moving water.

The Synod of Alaska-Northwest is the council that represents the collection of Presbyteries that include Alaska, Washington and Northern Idaho. The Stated Clerk is the ecclesiastical administrator of this council, maintaining records of the synod while working with and supporting the work of the Presbyteries.

In collaboration with the Presbytery of Olympia, LPC's Action Plan Team will be hosting a "Mission Possible" night. Along with members of other congregations, we will begin with a tour of the Bryant Neighborhood Tour and hear about Trinity's story, share a meal, and then dive into Mission Possible.

Mission Possible is a game that takes participants through the design thinking process from big problems to creative use of resources to innovative solutions all in less than 2 hours. Participants will enjoy themselves and walk away with a much deeper understanding of how to address problems creatively. What takes months to learn in a classroom or workshop can be learned through playing a game.

If you'd like to join us, email Pastor Laura by Monday November 17th.
