Psalm 145:17-20
The Lord is just in all His ways, and kind in all His doings. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth. He fulfils the desire of all who fear Him, He also hears their cry, and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love Him; but all the wicked He will destroy.

This passage has come across in my devotional time several times the past few days. As I pondered on it, I realized that we often do not really know the desires of our heart until God steps in and leads us down a different path. Then we find that what we actually thought we wanted is nowhere near what our hearts truly desire. And if we really meditate on it, we find that He did indeed give us our hearts desire...different from what we would have thought it to be.
