Every other month on the third Tuesday you are invited to our Fellowship, Family and Friends Dinner. As the name implies, it is family friendly, community oriented and all are welcome. Bring a friend. Take a break. Let someone do the cooking. There are no catches, we are not selling anything, and it is 100% free. The food is always delicious, too; prepared by our in-house chef - Pastor David Ryan! "Chef" was his title in a past life. He now uses those skills to share the love of Christ. You won't go away disappointed.

RECONCILING ALL THE TRAGEDY IN THE WORLD WITH A "LOVING GOD" IS LIKE SEEING THE FOREST THROUGH THE TREES.

Jesus said to His enemies --->"You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44 NIV

Not long after Jesus made this statement, He was put to death at the bidding of the very same enemy. -->"When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death." Matthew 27:1

So they became murderers just like the devil. The statement that Christ made was proven true by their own actions!

The point often missing is that when Jesus called the devil a "murderer" and mentioned "the beginning", He referred to when Satan lied to Eve in the Garden of Eden, bringing about the release of sin and death into the world. God warned Adam and Eve that they would die if they ate of the "forbidden fruit". Then the devil said this: -->“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman." Genesis. 3:4

The truth is that in spite of the human mortality that was brought about when sin entered the world, God has provided the Lifeline from death to life! -->"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

The saving grace of Christ is as much about being able to endure the chaos of the world - in the here and now - as it is about the hereafter into eternity with God in Heaven. The latter is the proverbial "forest through the trees". Don't be left behind!

Does sin feel like a prison to you? Have you felt like a slave to addiction? Sins of the past? The present? The future? There is freedom from sin in the blood of Christ.

Acknowledging our sin, asking forgiveness, and asking Jesus into our lives is a "Chain Breaker" (as the song of the same title goes).

Jesus, Himself said “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin." John 8:34

In John 8:44(b), he said of the devil, ..."He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (NIV)

Stop listening to lies about yourself, whatever the source!

Sin does not have to enslave us!

Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

The Holy Bible tells a story about the Apostle Peter, when he was in prison. He slept in chains with a guard on each side of him, behind two guard posted gates, while the early church earnestly prayed for him. Then this happened:

"Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands." Acts 12:7 (NIV)

Is someone praying for you to be freed? Let the light of Christ illuminate whatever prison in which you find yourself and break the chains of sin that bind you!

There is healing in the love of Jesus by his blood shed on the cross.

Do you wonder who God is? Whether He is real? Is there any evidence of God around you? Well, it is Spring!

Consider these two Bible passages...

"But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain." John 12:23

"...All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,
But the word of the Lord endures forever." 1 Peter 1:24-25(a)

So, have you ever wondered how it is possible that when a plant dies, through it's seeds, it comes back to life after death? How, through the death of one flower, many flowers may come to life?

Because when God created the plants, He knew that by the death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ, many would live in His perpetual light into eternity!

That is why it is written:

"O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?"
1 Corinthians 15:55

Have you ever found yourself in one of life's storms and prayed for "still waters"?

The bible tells us that with God, all things are possible. [Dust of that Bible and see Mark 10:27; Luke 1:17; Jeremiah 32:17 as well as others]

Having faith in Jesus Christ and following him through prayer, worship, and fellowship with a family of like-minded believers, can absolutely calms the stormy waters of life. He did it with the apostles and is still doing it today for He is ageless - just like the Word of God.

"Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Mark 4:39-41

Facing stormy waters in your life? Are you broken down? Hurting? Feeling like giving up? Cry out to Jesus asking for the forgiveness he made available to all of us by dying on the cross and returning to life! He calms stormy waters! He can make a way!

Have you been “watching church” since the pandemic even though you have transportation and are able-bodied? The truth is that you are not alone. In the wake of lockdowns and restrictions, the number of churches that began live-streaming services soared to over 90%. The tragic fallout of that development is that staying home from church was made easy for us. Some Christians still haven't returned. If you are one of those who got in the habit of staying home, please keep reading.

The truth is that there are biblical reasons why we should gather together in worship.

Consider Hebrews 10:23-25(a): “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the *assembling of ourselves together*, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more..."

Not forsaking the sick or infirmed - for whom live-streaming church is an absolute blessing - gathering together by the rest of us in followship and praise, yields blessings beyond measure. Such is food for one’s spirit. It helps to heal the broken heart. It promotes growth and strength in Christ. Godly friendships are developed along with a sense of belonging with a church family. This is far better than going it alone in such a "noisy" world full of life's challenges.

Proverbs 27:17 tells us that “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

Matthew 18:20 tells us that "...where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

These are just a few biblical reasons to "GO BACK TO CHURCH".

At West Deer Bible Church we lovingly gather together every Sunday morning at 10:00 for Bible Study and at 11:00 for worship. You are invited to get off of your couch and join us!

Are you feeling like you are trapped in a dark hole with no "life-line" to escape? Do you feel like the world is closing in on you? Are you stumbling through life? Jesus is a real life-line! God promises everlasting life to those who love Him and surrender their hearts to Christ. John 3:16 of the Holy Bible states:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

AND...

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." v. 17

This includes YOU!

Are you wondering how to find Him?
Well, He already sees you.
He already knows you.
He has always loved you.
Just cry out to Him with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength!
Cry out to Jesus and he will come to you! That is a promise!

Micah 6:8

Have you wandered off? Are you seeking a church community? Do you miss hearing the Word of God? Praise? Church family and fellowship? Can’t seem to find your way back?

Then consider the Gospel of Luke 15:20-24.

“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.”

Not convinced this passage is about you? If you’re still reading, then consider the Gospel of John 6:37-39.

“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.”

Jesus Christ said that around 2000 years ago.

God’s Word is the same now as it was then.

Faith, Family, Fellowship and Friends are vital dynamics in the vision of West Deer Bible Church. Every other month on the fourth Tuesday, we gather together in our fellowship hall for an evening meal. Everyone in the community is welcome and encouraged to join us.

You don't need to be a member.
