Cedar Grove Cemetery

Recently topsoil was purchased for use in the cemetery and placed in the back. Someone decided it was free and decided to steal some. Stealing in the cemetery will not be tolerated even for topsoil. If you see anything in the cemetery that does not look right please try to get their license plate. Do not approach them or say anything. We will pass it on to the police. People constantly amaze me.

Also time to start removing summer flowers and get ready for fall and the holiday season. Usually by the end of summer the flowers are looking a bit weary. I appreciate your help in this matter.

Update: Well the temporary fence at the cemetery has been removed. Seeding has begun and they are almost done with all work there. They will continue to water the grass and monitor what needs to be done. I have had the fence put back on the new property line since we will not be replacing the trees. Ride through if you get a chance. What a difference it makes. Its been a long journey I thank everyone for their understanding and patience. I think it will look beautiful when its completed.

Unfortunately the cemetery has encountered the damage of a big pine tree in the front near the road. It was apparently hit by lighting and needs to be removed for safety reasons. This is the only reason we would remove a tree. The work will be done tomorrow so avoid that area if you are in there on April 9th. That being said Sherwin Williams is moving along with the back section. Its been repaved and top soil put down. Seeding will begin shortly. Not exactly sure when it will reopen but soon. I thank everyone for being so patient with this process. Our goal is always to have the cemetery be the best it can be. It takes us all to do that.

As you all know this snow storm has been difficult for everyone including the cemetery. That and having four funerals in ten days has made things very unusual. We will be working to clean things up when possible and remove all Christmas decorations. Sorry about the delay but they can not even be seen at this point. Please bear with us and we all dig out of the storm. We all should want the cemetery to be the best it can be.

For those who go in and out regularly at the cemetery work will begin on Tuesday for the restoration of the back section. If you have any questions there will be a number to call. I have been told it will take about two months to complete the project and leave the cemetery in the same shape it was when they arrived. Dont be afraid to ask questions its your cemetery too. With your help we will get past this bump in the road and I am sure they will do everything possible to respect the property. Thats important to me and I know to all of you.

As we all know Sherwin Williams has been in Gibbsboro for a long time doing lots of restorative work. Unfortunately the Cemetery is part of that plan. Work will be starting soon inside the back section but not where any burials or tombstones are. Hopefully all done quickly and with little or no disruption. Please help through this time.

Well as summer ends fall is right behind. All summer type flowers will be removed by the end of September. If you have anything you wish to save please do so. Keeping the cemetery current and in season respects all who are there. If you cant get there please let me know and I will remove yours and save them for you if thats what you want.

I appreciate all your help in this matter. I am always proud when someone says how nice it looks. You are part of that and I thank you.
