🌟🔭 Reaching for the stars in 5th and 6th grade science! Our students welcomed Jerry Jones, who shared his knowledge and passion for astronomy. 🌌✨

Students learned about the life cycle of a star, constellations, and the wonders of our universe. What a great opportunity to explore beyond the classroom and discover just how amazing the night sky can be! ⭐🌙

🌉💙 Building bridges to kindness! Our Kindergarten and 8th grade Prayer Partners came together to read a book about building a bridge to kindness and then worked together to build their own bridges! 📚🧱✨

Prayer Partners are such a wonderful part of our school community, giving our youngest and oldest students the opportunity to build friendships, learn from one another, and create meaningful relationships. What a beautiful way to grow together in faith, friendship, and kindness! 🙏💙

🌈🪂 Fun, movement, and learning in the gym! Our Pre-K students had a great time playing with the parachute alongside Mr. Joe. They stretched their bodies, practiced following directions, and used their listening ears while working together. 👂😊💙

Learning through movement makes school even more fun! 🎉

🌈🪂 ¡Diversión, movimiento y aprendizaje en el gimnasio! Nuestros estudiantes de Pre-K se divirtieron mucho jugando con el paracaídas junto al Sr. Joe. Estiraron sus cuerpos, practicaron cómo seguir instrucciones y usaron sus oídos atentos mientras trabajaban juntos. 👂😊💙

❄️🍧 Prayer Partners Come Together! 🍧❄️

Our Prayer Partners in Kindergarten and 8th Grade and 2nd and 6th Grade came together for a special time of faith, friendship, and fun! 💙🙏

Students enjoyed reading God Made the Snow Cone together and then continued the fun by making—and eating—their very own delicious snow cones! 🍧😋

What a sweet way for our students to build friendships across grade levels while spending time together! 💙✨

Each week, we will shine a spotlight on one special student at SFXCS! 🎉 Through our Student of the Week feature, we’ll celebrate the unique talents, interests, accomplishments, and personalities that make our school community so special. 💙

💧🔬 Science is making a splash in 4th Grade! 🔬💧

Our 4th graders explored the amazing properties of water during the “Drops on a Penny” experiment! Students carefully added drops of water to a penny and observed how many drops could fit before spilling over.

This hands-on experiment demonstrated important scientific concepts, including surface tension, cohesion, and adhesion. 🪙💧 It was exciting to watch the water droplets work together and form a dome on top of the penny!

Learning science is always more fun when you can see it in action! 🧪✨

💧🔬 ¡La ciencia está causando sensación en 4.º grado! 🔬💧

¡Nuestros estudiantes de 4.º grado exploraron las increíbles propiedades del agua durante el experimento “Gotas sobre una moneda”! Los estudiantes agregaron cuidadosamente gotas de agua a una moneda y observaron cuántas gotas podían colocar antes de que el agua se derramara.

🚌♻️ STEM Challenge in 6th Grade! ♻️🚌

Our 6th graders put their creativity and engineering skills to the test as they designed and built buses using cardboard tubes and other recyclable materials! 🌎🔧

Once their buses were complete, students tested them to see whose design could travel the furthest. They then discussed why some buses performed better than others and what design choices may have affected the results. 💡📏

Be sure to check out some of these amazing creations, now on display in the church Narthex! We are so proud of our young engineers and their creative problem-solving skills! 👏🚌

🚌♻️ ¡Desafío STEM en 6.º grado! ♻️🚌

¡Nuestros estudiantes de 6.º grado pusieron a prueba su creatividad y sus habilidades de ingeniería mientras diseñaban y construían autobuses utilizando tubos de cartón y otros materiales reciclables! 🌎🔧

Una vez que completaron sus autobuses, los estudiantes los probaron para ver cuál diseño podía llegar más lejos. Luego, conversaron sobre por qué algunos autobuses funcionaron mejor que otros y qué decisiones de diseño pudieron haber afectado los resultados. 💡📏
