Happy Heavenly Birthday to Florence Marie Groft. 🎂🕊️

May 14, 1898 —October 13, 1996

Today we honor Florence not for what was forgotten on a marker, but for the life she lived and the love she left behind. May her memory continue to be a blessing to all who remember her.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Florence. 🤍

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that meaningful choices can also be gentle on the earth. We offer biodegradable caskets and shrouds, and our on-site cemetery allows for green burial. Our cemetery is open to all—you do not need to use our funeral home—and we also work with other local green burial cemeteries. 🌍🌱

🕊️Baltzer Snyder

Born February 22, 1820 – Died April 11, 1897. Today we begin by honoring Baltzer Snyder, a longtime resident of Two Taverns, Adams County, Pennsylvania. His home — which still stands along the Baltimore Pike — remains a quiet witness to the life he built there nearly two centuries ago. Baltzer rests at Two Taverns Cemetery, in the same community he called home.

He was the husband of Mary Ann Schwartz Snyder (1836–1888) and the father of Margaret Rebecca Snyder Fiscel (1858–1906), Elizabeth A. “Lizzie” Snyder Fiscel (1860–1936), Col. Henry Daniel Snyder (1866–1926), Capt. John Jacob Snyder (1869–1928), George Allen Snyder (1877–1938), and CPT William Ruff Snyder (1879–1934).

Through his children and the generations that followed, his legacy continues. What a gift it is to even have a photograph — a rare and meaningful glimpse into the face of someone who lived in 1820.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Baltzer. 🤍

🎂 Thomas Sentman Newman

Born February 23, 1855 – Adams County, Pennsylvania
Died November 4, 1942 – Cumberland Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania.

We also remember Thomas Sentman Newman on his heavenly birthday. Born in Adams County in 1855, Thomas lived 87 years, witnessing incredible changes in the world around him.

He rests at Two Taverns Cemetery.
Thomas was the son of Robert Newman (1830–1877) and Elina J. Newman (d. 1854), and the husband of Annie M. Newman (1859–1890). His life remains an important branch of the family tree, deeply rooted in Adams County soil.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Thomas. 🤍
