Today, TRINITY SUNDAY at the Gerry Methodist Church, Pastor Melody Overend preached the message, A HOLY KISS, based on Matthew 28:16-20, and 2 Corinthians 13:11-14. "What is it you're doing to be a better disciple of Christ? How are you growing as a disciple? How are your spiritual and social disciplines?" A true disciple shares Jesus....teaching, encouraging, comforting others. Thank you, Pastor Melody, for reminding us that Agape Love, freely given to us, has no limits and we must share it with others.... the lost, the weak and even the rude.

The Tuesday Morning Ladies Bible Study Group met today at The Gerry Methodist Church. They signed a card of encouragement for someone facing surgery and studied Luke 7:18-30.

Joanne Dunn made a surprise visit to thank the women for praying for her son, 43 year old Seth, who was in a horrible accident last fall in California and not expected to live. After sustaining several major injuries, he was in a coma for 2 weeks, had many surgeries, remained in the hospital for months, received rehabilitation, and is now at home ambulating with a walker. Joanne said her son is a living miracle, thanks to prayers on his behalf. It was a wonderful to hear directly from Joanne how well Seth is doing. Praise God!

Leann Harrington preached today, Pentecost Sunday, at The Gerry Methodist Church. Her message, WORD AND SPIRIT, was based on Acts 2:1-21. It was a fun filled hour with participation by the youth and their balloons. Do we long for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, such as on the original day of Pentecost? Let us seek God's face, pray, read His Word, and wait "in one accord", as Jesus' disciples did in the Upper Room. Thank you, Leann, for your message.

Pastor Melody Overend preached today, ASCENSION DAY, at the Gerry Methodist Church. "YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE A WITNESS" was her message, based on Luke 24:44-49 and Acts 1:1-11.
1. Jesus rose into the sky the 40th day after Easter
2. Ascension occurred after the crucifixion and after Jesus' resurrection
3. His disciples saw Him alive after the crucifixion and saw Him ascend into the heavens
4. Jesus promised them the gift of the Holy Spirit who would always be with them/us
5. Jesus said wait for the Holy Spirit's presence and power, then share God's love with others
6. Jesus is alive today, in heaven and in those who believe and have the Holy Spirit
7. We are blessed to be His witnesses...so

Pastor Melody Overend preached at the Gerry Methodist Church today on Mother's Day. Her message, HOLE IN OUR HEARTS, was based on John 14. Love your God. Love your neighbor. We love God but do we always get along with others.... Jesus said, "If you love Me, follow my commandments".....with words, action, thought, time, finances, relationships, etc. We follow Jesus out of love. When you believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit is WITH YOU When you submit to a relationship with Jesus, the Holy Spirit is IN YOU When you engage in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is UPON YOU
