The Couple’s Retreat this year was a wonderful time filled with great food, fellowship, and sessions full of great practical Biblical truths. What a blessing to have so many couples from the church join us this year!

At our Christmas candlelight service, we learned that the song title “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” is often misunderstood. The placement of the comma indicates that instead of addressing this song to “merry gentlemen,” the writer is actually addressing the “gentlemen” with an old English phrase meaning “May God give you joy!” or “May God make your heart glad!” The song goes on to explain why we can be filled with joy - because our Savior was born to save us from the power of Satan! The last verse encourages us to live in light of this truth by praising the Lord and loving those around us. This Christmas, may we all be “merry” because of the wonderful act of love God has done for us!

We had a wonderful time getting ready for fall with our door-hanger activity today! Melanie did a great job prepping and leading customizable painting projects. 🎃 🛻 🍁 And Mindy gave a great devotional reminding us about some of the names of our great God. Thank you so much to everyone who participated and helped in any way!
