End of the week encouragement from Pastor Chuck!

We lived in Athens before moving to Winder, but that 35-minute commute to work/school got real when my Caboose started kindergarten. I wanted to be present, not just passing through, so we sold our house at the speed of light and then couldn’t find another one to save our lives.

Deal after deal fell through. Honestly, we may have set a world record that year for failed attempts and missed opportunities. Summer came and went, and by August, all my teacher clothes were still packed away in a POD two towns over. We’d been living with my father-in-law since May, constantly wondering why every single door kept closing.

Until November.

A house popped up 5 minutes from Bo’s school: land, barn, gate, pool… and way out of our budget. But we threw out a low offer anyway. Why not? And, guess what? They accepted!

We closed December 30, 2015. And just like that, every “no” finally made sense.

From April to December… that’s a long season of frustration and disappointment, folks. But it wasn’t rejection. It was redirection. I can see that now. So, if you’re in that season right now, don’t quit. God isn’t ignoring you. He’s preparing something better.
