Saint Nicholas visited the children of Light of Christ this morning! Shared some (chocolate) gold coins, got passionate about his archnemesis (Booo, Arius!), and told stories of helping the poor.
Thanks for coming, Saint Nick! See you next year!

Join Fr. Adam Gosnell this Sunday (17th) and next (24th) for a brief series on BOUNDARIES.

If you have read Dr Cloud and Townsend’s book boundaries and are ready to go further, this class is for you.

We were created for relationship. God's word in creation, "It is not good that the man should be alone," echoes out to all of us. Today, we find ourselves in many, many relationships, with intimate partners, parents, siblings, children, friends, colleagues, and church-friends.

How would our lives be different if those relationships were more healthy?

The Boundaries Course is an emotional and spiritual journey into what makes relationships work. It's an invitation and a challenge, to grow into God's intention for healthy relationships.

Fr. Adam is a non-parochial priest who works full-time with Christian charities. He and his wife, Rebecca, moved to Jarrell, TX in June 2023.

The History of Light of Christ:

In 2013 a core group of about 25 congregants from Christ Church Austin began a satellite church in Sun City.

Father Steve Pope (center) and Father Billy Disch (not pictured) came out of retirement to pastor the small church until funds could be raised to bring on a full time rector.

They met first out of the community center, and then moved to an empty theater room in the local movie theater on Sunday mornings.

After bringing on Father Kurt in late 2015 as rector, the church moved from the smallest theater room, to the medium sized room, to the largest theater room, and then moved to a strip center location near downtown Georgetown at the end of 2018.

In mid 2022, with the end of a 5 year lease approaching, Father Kurt and the church began praying about the next step and the next space.

Several spaces were considered but fell through.

In early 2023 a local charter school put their building for sale to move out of town, and Light of Christ began pursuing the 4 acre lot in central Georgetown near Seranada.

After 6 months of the buying, selling, and renovation process, Light of Christ at 302 Seranada opened on July 30th with ~200 congregants in attendance.

Our heart is not to be the biggest church in town, but rather to church plant and shine the light of Christ through central Texas and the world.
