π FREEDOM FRIDAY | DAKOTAβS STORY π
βMy name is Dakota Womble. Iβm 34 years old. For most of my life, I was trapped in addiction, running with the devil and running away from God. Addiction controlled my thinking, my decisions, and the direction of my life. I was lost and without hope.
Eventually, I surrendered my life to God and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He rescued me from the darkness and gave me the strength to start living differently.
At Mercy House, Iβve learned that recovery takes more than just wanting a different life. Iβve had to build discipline, accept accountability, change my thinking, develop healthy routines, work hard, and learn how to face problems instead of running from them. Most importantly, Iβve learned to depend on Christ daily and resist the things that once controlled me.
Today, Iβm two years sober, one year ni****ne free, and I was recently baptized in the Okatoma Creek! π
God has restored my family and given me peace again. I was hopeless and lost, but today I have hope, direction, and a completely different path ahead of me.
Iβm not running anymore. Iβm learning how to stand firm and keep moving forward.β
