12 New Members Join St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church – Washington, D.C.

By the grace of God, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, His Grace Bishop Peter, Bishop of North and South Carolina and Kentucky, and Patriarchal Exarch for Virginia, baptized 12 new members and solemnized the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony for four of them, welcoming them into the fellowship of the faithful at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Washington, D.C.

The prayers were joined by Fr. Mark Aziz and Fr. Elisha Rizk, the priests of the church.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly baptized members, the fathers, and all the servants. May the Lord continue to bless this ministry and make it fruitful for the glory of His Holy Name.

❓ Was ist das Pfingstfest (Das Fest der Herabkunft des Heiligen Geistes)?
Es ist das Fest der Herabkunft des Heiligen Geistes auf die Jünger und der Beginn der Geburt der Kirche.
❓ Warum wird es als „Geburtstag der Kirche“ bezeichnet?
Weil die Jünger durch die Kraft des Heiligen Geistes begannen, das Evangelium in der ganzen Welt zu verkünden (Kerygma).
❓ Was geschah am Pfingsttag?
Der Heilige Geist erschien in Form von Feuerzungen, und alle wurden mit Kraft und Glauben erfüllt.
❓ Was sind die Symbole des Pfingstfestes?
Die Taube — Das Feuer — Der gewaltige Wind.
❓ Was lehrt uns Pfingsten?
Dass der Heilige Geist Kraft, Liebe und Mut schenkt, um Zeugnis für Christus abzulegen.
❓ Wie hat Pfingsten die Welt verändert?
Es verwandelte Furcht in Mut, Schweigen in Verkündigung (Kerygma) und Schwachheit in Kraft.
