"Suffering and pain are unavoidable, but misery is a choice."

That's the truth Pastor Charlie got real about this week as we kicked off our new series, Resilient. He shared some of his own story, two years of infertility, a stillbirth, losing his sister to cancer, and what he's learned about God's presence in the middle of it all.

Here's the heart of it: our suffering isn't God turning away from us.
It's the result of living in a broken world, it's spiritual warfare, and it's something God can use to shape us more into the likeness of Christ if we let Him.
Through it all, He promises He will never leave us or forsake us.

If you're walking through something hard right now, you are not alone, and you were never meant to carry it alone.
That's exactly what Life Groups are for, real people showing up for each other in the good weeks and the brutal ones.

This week in EQUIPPED, we were reminded who we're actually dealing with. The great I Am. The Lion of Judah. And yet, just as swiftly, the Lamb who was slain for us.

We deserved death, he took it instead, may we never let that grow old.

You don't have to fly to the Amazon to be a missionary.
Sometimes it's just walking next door.

This week's message hit hard:
"If you want to be considered a missionary, start right where you are."

Did you think of who's on your FRANC list?

- Relatives
- Acquaintances
- Neighbors
- Co-workers
Pick one name and start praying for them this week, and think about inviting them in to your life, your home, for coffee, a sports event. Sometimes an invitation is all it takes.
