Good morning, FOCUS Church family.
As of 6:30 AM, our area is receiving a steady mix of rain, sleet, and ice. Although I never like having to cancel a congregational worship gathering—especially on a Sunday morning—today it is necessary for the safety of our church family.
Having grown up driving in Michigan, I do not make this decision lightly. Current conditions are hazardous for travel. As I was driving from our home to the church facility this morning, ice and sleet were accumulating on the windshield and wiper blades faster than they could be cleared.
With that in mind, we won't be able to gather in person this morning. Please stay safe and warm.
That said, let us still worship the LORD Almighty today and give Him glory. Though we are unable to gather physically as brothers and sisters in Christ, I invite you to spend time this morning:
Reading God’s Word, the Holy Bible
Sitting in quiet reflection
Praying for one another
Worshiping the One Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Though today’s setting may look different than a typical Sunday morning, let us reflect on God’s kindness and mercy.
Prayer Focus for This Morning:
> Our team serving in Uganda—Linda, Christy, Lucy, and John. They are currently in Busia and have reported that they are doing well. The Youth Conference concluded this past week, and we look forward to seeing how God continues to work in mighty ways.
> Those across our state and local communities who are working tirelessly to keep roads clear and respond to emergency needs.
> Those the Lord has placed on your heart—that they would come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord and walk in the abundant life He offers.
May our Lord Jesus meet each of us as we worship Him today.
I plan to share a selected portion of a congregational worship time from early 2024. You are welcome to watch and worship along with that video. If you prefer, I encourage you to engage with worship through Scripture, song, or a trusted Bible teacher via Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, Amazon Music, or YouTube.
Lastly, know this: you are deeply loved with the love of Christ Jesus. You are precious and valuable. You have:
A Father who created you on purpose
The Only Begotten Son who redeemed you intentionally and sacrificially
The Holy Spirit dwelling within you
“May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.”
— Numbers 6:24–26 (NLT)
Grace and peace to you today.
