A blessed Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary! Pope Pius XII established this feast after he declared the dogma of the Assumption. He said, "We are instituting a feast so that all may recognize more clearly and venerate more devoutly the merciful and maternal sway of the Mother of God." Queen of Heaven, pray for us! Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us!

Pope St. Pius X is remembered today. He is known as the "Pope of the Eucharist" for lowering the age of First Holy Communion so more children could receive Jesus. Throughout his life, he often gave away his own clothes, food and money to the poor. He worked tirelessly to teach the faith to children and adults alike.

St. Pius X, patron saint of First Communicants and pilgrims, pray for us!

Happy feast of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Abbot and Doctor of the Church. He is often remembered by his prayer to Our Lady: “Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.”

Read and reflect on today's reading. What is the Lord saying to you?

Jesus said to the crowds:
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh for the life of the world."

The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,
"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
Jesus said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life,
and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food,
and my blood is true drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died,
whoever eats this bread will live forever."
