Gay Knighton Brooks will have a bone marrow biopsy on Wednesday in Atlanta. The doctor was concerned about a small abnormality in her checkup. Please be in prayer for her as she seeks to prepare for donating stem cells & marrow to her brother who has leukemia. ~ Bro. Kermit

WHAT THE POLLSTERS MISSED WAS THE PRIVACY OF THE VOTING BOOTH. THEY THOUGHT THAT THE PEOPLE WHO DID NOT SHOUT & THUMP THEIR CHESTS OVER THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE WERE TOO SHY TO STAND UP FOR THE CANDIDATE THEY FAVORED. IT TURNED OUT THAT PRIVACY IS EQUAL TO BRAVERY! THE ELECTION TURNED ON THE FACT THAT ONCE PEOPLE ENTERED THE PRIVACY OF THE VOTING BOOTH -- THEY VOTED THEIR CONVICTIONS! THEY SHOUTED & THUMPED THEIR CHESTS THROUGH THE VEHICLE OF THE PERSONAL RIGHT TO VOTE ONE'S CONVICTION. THE ELECTION TURNED ON THE INDIVIDUAL AMERICAN'S RIGHT TO EXPRESS HERSELF/HIMSELF IN AN ATMOSPHERE WHICH IS DEVOID OF POLITICAL PRESSURE & INTIMIDATION...THREE CHEERS FOR THE CONSITITUTION OF THE USA!!! ~ Kermit P. Met Dr. Lacour this morning & he did a very thorough exam - about 30 minutes. He is convinced I have RA and not lupus. He believes it is in the very early stage & used terms like "dialing it back to zero" & remission. He gave me a shot for the swelling & took more blood to eliminate lupus or anything else just to be sure. He is prescribing a drug which has no effect on the immune system & said he felt he could get me back to life as normal. I was very impressed with his expertise & friendliness. He actually grew up in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, just a few streets down from our seminary residence. All in all, I am very thankful for the Lord's intervention & for the prayers of so many of you...now I can begin working on getting to remission! ~ Kermit
