Today was a tough day but also an eye opener. The ministry went to Flaming-Neon KY today to give the donations we had and what we could do to help. I googled this lovely little town before we went and it looked so cozy with the vibe of Mayberry (google it). The pictures below is what is left. I was told there was 15 ft of water in some places. When I got home tonight I was sweaty from the day and jumped in the shower to wash the dirt off and broke into tears. Some of the people have been without power and water for weeks. They can't jump in the shower after a day of cleaning and unloading trucks and this broke my heart. While we were unloading the uhaul of water and cleaning supplies we had so much help! Young people laughing and cutting up with us. One incident that touched my heart so much was the little girl that looked to be about 5 years old calling out to her friend about the same age as she came to the school to get supplies with her mom, they hugged and smiled and ran off to play! Some of these people's homes and businesses are condemned, roads are gone, and bridges have collapsed. But I met some of the nicest and caring people in my life. Say a prayer for KY as you sleep peaceful in your bed with food in your cabinets and your AC running full blast, because you are truly blessed! We love you Flaming-Neon KY and you are in our prayers!!!
