Day five of our community-wide Holy Week began just like the previous four days, with the community coming out in support of our crosswalk. From ages 10 to 80, our community took turns, carrying the cross throughout the city, and praying, not just for our city, but our country.

Tonight at 6 PM, we will gather again at Westside Methodist Church to conclude our Good Friday service. Join us!

The Geneva Ministerial Association is excited to invite the community to our annual Good Friday Crosswalk, taking place this tomorrow (Friday), starting at 9:30 AM.
The event will commence at the Westside Methodist Church located at 1010 W Maple Ave., Geneva, Alabama, symbolizing a day of faith, reflection, and unity.

This year’s Crosswalk event offers a poignant opportunity for community members to come together in remembrance of the sacred day when Jesus carried his cross to Calvary Hill. Participants in the Crosswalk will have the unique chance to take turns carrying the Cross, embodying the spirit of humility and sacrifice that Good Friday represents.

For further details about the Crosswalk or the week’s services, please reach out to Brother Russell Clausell Sr. at Saint Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, via phone at 334-447-1286.

We look forward to seeing the community come together for this solemn and reflective occasion.

DAY V OF HOLY WEEK

📢 Maundy Thursday🙏🏼

Good morning, MWN family! In today’s “Morning with Nancy” devotional, we turn our hearts and minds to the profound significance of Maundy Thursday, a pivotal day in Holy Week that marks the Last Supper of Jesus with His disciples. As we explore Matthew 26:17-75, we are invited into the upper room, where Jesus, knowing the weight of what was to come, chose to institute the Eucharist. This act of breaking bread and sharing wine as His body and blood was a testament to the new covenant—a promise of forgiveness and eternal life. It’s a moment that calls us to remember His ultimate sacrifice and love for us, urging us to live in communion with Him and one another.

Yet, Maundy Thursday also casts a shadow of betrayal and impending sorrow, as it unfolds the events of Jesus’ betrayal by Judas, leading to His agonizing prayer in Gethsemane and subsequent arrest. This juxtaposition of divine love and human betrayal prompts us to reflect on our own moments of weakness and the times we have, in essence, turned away from Jesus. It challenges us to confront our shortcomings, seek forgiveness, and embrace a path of true discipleship, anchored in faith and love.

My brothers and sisters, as we journey through this Holy Week, let us draw closer to the heart of Jesus, contemplating the depth of His sacrifice and the breadth of His love for us. May we find strength in His presence, hope in His resurrection, and the courage to follow in His footsteps of servitude and unconditional love. ❤️🙏🏼

DAY IV OF HOLY WEEK

📢BETRAYAL WEDNESDAY🙏🏼

Good morning, MWN family! On this solemn day of Holy Week, our "Morning with Nancy" devotional turns its focus to Holy Wednesday, also known as Spy Wednesday. This day marks a moment of profound reflection within our faith journey, as tradition suggests it was when Judas Iscariot conspired to betray Jesus. The scriptures in Matthew 26:14-16, Mark 14:10-11, and Luke 22:3-6 recount the chilling details of this plot, where Judas agrees to hand over Jesus for thirty pieces of silver, setting the stage for the events that lead to our Savior’s crucifixion.

This act of betrayal by one of His own brings to light the stark realities of human frailty and sin. Yet, it also magnifies the boundless grace and mercy of Jesus. As we reflect on Judas' betrayal, let it serve as a reminder of our own moments of failure and the infinite forgiveness that Christ offers to each of us. It is a call to examine our hearts and to recommit our lives to the one who paid the ultimate price for our redemption.

Let us not lose heart but be inspired by Jesus’ unwavering faith and love in the face of betrayal. May we strive to embody His teachings, to love unconditionally, and to forgive endlessly. As we journey through this Holy Week, let us draw closer to the heart of Jesus, understanding more deeply the magnitude of His sacrifice for us. ❤️🙏🏼

📢❤️❤️HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY (A PERFECT TIME TO BEGIN LENT) ❤️❤️🙏🏼

Good morning, Facebook family! In today’s “Morning with Nancy” devotional, as we prepare to celebrate our love for others on this Valentine's Day, let's also take a moment to reflect on the significance of Lent. Lent is a sacred season in the Christian calendar, a time of spiritual renewal, self-reflection, and drawing closer to God.

In the Bible, we see how Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert, facing temptation and emerging victorious. Just as Jesus used this time for spiritual growth, Lent offers us the opportunity to deepen our relationship with God through prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness.

Scripture reminds us in Matthew 4:1-11 of Jesus's time in the wilderness, where He fasted and resisted temptation. This passage highlights the importance of spiritual discipline and relying on God's strength during challenging times. During Lent, we can follow Jesus's example by seeking His guidance and strength as we navigate our own trials and temptations. Let us use this season to renew our faith, seek forgiveness, and grow in our love for God and others.

As we embark on this Lenten journey, let us remember the words of Joel 2:12-13, which call us to return to God with all our hearts, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Let us not view Lent as a mere ritual but as a heartfelt opportunity to draw closer to God, to seek His forgiveness and grace, and to be transformed by His love. May this season of Lent be a time of spiritual growth and renewal for all of us. Blessings to you all as we walk this path together. ❤️🙏🏼
