September 6, Godly Restored Labor Day
God’s Great Labor Day Example: Genesis 1:31 (NLT2) Then God looked over all He had made, and He saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.
Psalm 19:1-6 (NLT2) 1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. 5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after His wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. 6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other.
Psalm 104:10-14, 24-28 (NLT2) 10 God You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains. 11 They provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst. 12 The birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees. 13 You send rain on the mountains from Your heavenly home, and You fill the earth with the fruit of Your labor. 14 You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth.
Ps104:24-28 O LORD, what a variety of things You have made! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures. 25 Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small. 26 See the ships sailing along, and Leviathan [perhaps dolphins or whales], which You made to play in the sea. 27 They all depend on You to give them food as they need it. 28 When You supply it, they gather it. You open Your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.
Mans’ Labor Failure: Genesis 2:15 (NLT2) The LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.
Genesis 3:17-19 (NLT2) 17 And to the man He said, “Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, the ground is cursed because of you. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it. 18 It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains. 19 By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the *ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.” *Genesis 2:7 (NLT2) Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
Man’s New Labor Union:
John 6:29 (NLT2) Jesus told them, “This is the only *work God wants from you: Believe in the One He has sent.” *Titus 3:5 (HCSB) He saved us not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Philippians 1:6 (NLT2) And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the Day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 2:13 (NLT2) For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT2) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.
