Project Dress Africa

Project Dress Africa We are a ministry in Ga***rd, MI that wants some little girls in Africa to be able to dress up, something that little girls here, in America, love to do.

Project Dress Africa cares about the little girls in Africa who never have a pretty dress to wear. We collect dresses, and are planning to have a huge dress sale once we have collected a reasonable amount of dresses. The proceeds will go to Africa with a missionary that will buy dresses from a local dressmaker, then pass them out to girls in an orphanage.

We are still collecting dresses! Right now we have a little over 50 dresses right now and we are trying to get to 200 dresses to make sure we meet our goal of $288, which is how much it will cost to buy each girl a dress. We are also finishing up sending letters to some of the churches in Michigan. We had 128 churches that we sent to, and we sent out the first batch a month or two ago, now we hope to get the next batch stuffed and sent out by next week! Thank you to everyone who has donated, and I hope that you will keep collecting and spreading the word about the project. After contacting Emeline Kpego who works with the girls that we are trying to help raise money for for dresses. Working with her we have concluded (and when I say we I mean that she figured out everything) that to buy a dress for every girl in the orphanage it will only cost $288. There are 33 girls ages 2-18 and a dress for ages 2-13 will cost $6 USD each and for sizes 14-18 it will cost $9 USD each. When we got the total we were surprised, we thought that it would cost way more, so me and my mom started thinking, we are doing things for the girls, so why not do something for the boys?
We have decided that we will try to figure out how much it will cost to buy a pair of shoes for every boy in the orphanage as well!
For an update we have about 50 dresses! Thank you again to everyone who has donated, and don't forget to ask family and friends for any dresses they can spare, every dress counts. Thanks again!

After we got our letters to local churches. We started working on letters to other churches in Michigan. So far we have 60 letters out to other churches. Thank you to everyone who has donated!!!😀👗

Just went through my closet, and we now have 35 dresses here at Project Dress Africa. Only 265 dresses left to collect before we are able to have our first dress sale. Big thank you to everyone who has donated. Please remember to spread the word about Project Dress Africa, and see if you have any dresses. We accept any dresses that are anywhere from babies sizes to juniors. Also please check for any stains or rips before donating. It would also be very helpful if the dresses were washed before they are donated. It is not mandatory, though. Thank you again, and I hope you can donate!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We now have 17 dresses at Project Dress Africa. Our goal is to get to 300 dresses in order to have a huge sale to send money to an African missionary to purchase dresses for orphans from local dressmakers. Please ask all of your friends and family for any dresses that are to small or just don't fit right. Dresses can be new or used. We will accept sizes baby to juniors. Also we will be sending out letters soon to many churches so please pray that they would be willing to put a collection box in their church. Thank you!!!
