Doris Beach, 89, a life long supporter of Park of the Pines, passed at home surrounded by family on May 26,2026. Doris was a familiar face around the grounds from cooking for camps and reunions to counseling at camps, to sitting in the camps store selling homemade items to benefit the Park. She rarely missed a reunion and her greatest joy was seeing that her love for the Park and her legacy will be passed down through her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her presence will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life has been planned for Doris on Sunday, June 28th, at 2:00 p.m. at Park of the Pines. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers it was Doris’ desire that donations be made to Park of the Pines. A fund has been established in her honor for this purpose. Donations can be sent to:

It is with sad hearts that we share with you. Last night our beloved friend, Beth Warner, went to her eternal rest. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 21st at 1:00 pm at August Haus in Ga***rd.

Considering that we still have significant snowbanks at the Park and Mother Nature is sending us bad weather for the end of the week, we have decided to postpone the Easter Egg Hunt Event until Saturday April 11, 2:00-5:00.

Consumers Energy is reporting that more than 480 restoration crews will be working around the clock today as Consumers Energy works to return power to more than 80,000 customers affected by another round of severe Michigan weather. Heavy snow and freezing rain have caused especially hazardous conditions in several Northern Michigan communities, from Cadillac to Lake Huron.

We urge you to pay attention to travel advisories and consider whether travel is necessary. If you experience an outage, you can report it, check the status of your outage and view the Consumers Energy system-wide outage map at ConsumersEnergy.com/OutageCenter. You can sign up to get outage alerts and restoration times sent to a phone, email or text message, simply text 'REG' to 232273 or visit ConsumersEnergy.com/Alerts.

As crews work in your area, please remember:

Be alert to crews working along roadsides. Drivers should slow down or stop and wait for oncoming traffic to clear so they can go safely past.
Stay at least 25 feet away from downed power lines, and report unguarded downed lines by calling 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050. jFalsely reporting downed lines slows down the restoration process for everyone.
Never use a generator in an attached garage, basement, enclosed patio or near any air intakes. Doing so could cause hazardous levels of carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless and deadly gas, in your home.
Consumers Enegy will trim or remove trees interfering with electric restoration activities. Once safe to do so, clean-up of debris from tree trimming or removal during a storm emergency is the responsibility of individual property owners.
In some cases, the mast that holds the electric service wires to a home or business may have been damaged or torn away. Crews will reconnect the wires to a home, but only a licensed electrician can repair or replace a mast or a service entrance cable.
