Located about ten miles east of Gatesville on Farm-to-Market 107 at Coryell Creek, Pecan Grave Baptist Church has been serving the area for 135 years. The current church building was built in 1929 and has undergone several additions and changes since then. In the past few years, the church has been (retro) restored to the way t

he church looked 40 some-odd years ago. With the newly established George and Mary Dayton Church Preservation Fund, the church and grounds had some much needed work done, mainly to help prevent flooding from Coryell Creek that tends to happen every 5 years or so. Please note that this is indeed a church and not a venue. Rules, policies and procedures have been voted on and approved for use of our beloved Historic Church and Grounds. Also, any messages sent through this page will go to long-time church member Jane Pitts. She will help out as best as she can, and relay any messages to Pastor Jeff Huckaby if needed. Even if you ate a big breakfast, you'll be hungry by the time church lets out with the lingering aroma of home cooked meals by our fabulous ladies! )

For two weeks in row, out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling church services. Overnight the creek crested and came out of the banks a little. The long video is from July 5 and the short one is from this morning.

Pecan Grove Baptist Church experienced tremendous damage from flooding that took place in May. After five months of hard-work and dedication, the church welcomed its members back into the building.
