Chase had the privilege of being an alumni guest speaker at the Windham (prison education/vocational school district) education staff conference, where he had the honor if getting to share with Windham superintendent, principals, teachers, and staff. He spoke on the vital role that educationand vocation plays in prison reform and how these classes and programs as well as the educators themselves transform lives of the men and women in prison and after they re-enter society. He had the opportunity to share insight and input into what the district does great and also give feedback on where things could still improve in prison reform and education. His message highlighted the importance of education, dignity, and second chances within the justice system and how the education and educators play a vital role in this.
We pray that the educators found a renewed inspiration and encouragement in their careers by seeing these four previous inmates and how they are thriving in their life and careers.
We want to specifically thank Windham for this amazing opportunity. We also want to thank those that came out to support Chase… his best friend Johnny who has walked all seasons of life with Chase the good, the bad and the ugly and consistently show up for Chase and our family, also Chase‘s previous Chaplain volunteers who poured into Chase while he was in prison and have been a constant support ever since… they were right there in the front row to see him speak at this conference and were also a major inspiration for Convicted Ministries.
Finally we want to take a moment to honor and recognize Miss Langford sitting next to Chase on the panel, she went through two programs/classes led by Convicted Ministries at Woodman and it was truly inspiring to see her sitting up there, influencing and impacting prison reform and sharing how the education system and vocation programs impacted her life and future career. We love getting to see our previous ladies, thriving in their lives and careers.
Grateful for this meaningful opportunity to support lasting change.
