🪧Center for Energy Education is coming to Gates County to help residents apply for Energy Saver North Carolina, a state program that provides financial assistance for energy‑saving and electrification home upgrades for eligible homeowners and renters.
Through a partnership with NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), families across North Carolina have already received upgrades like new HVAC systems, water heaters, appliances (refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers), duct work, air sealing, and insulation; all aimed at improving comfort, safety, and lowering energy costs.
Qualified residents may receive up to $16,000 through the HOMES program and up to $14,000 through the HEAR program, depending on eligibility and household needs. Based on income guidelines, many Gates County residents may qualify.
📅 May 12
📍 Gates County Community Center
⏰ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
The Center for Energy Education will be on site assisting residents with applications only. They do not approve or deny applications and will not have access to application status after submission.
Important notes:
➡️This is not an emergency assistance program
➡️It does not pay or help pay energy bills
➡️It does not cover roof or floor replacement
What applicants will need:
✔️A valid email address (each applicant needs their own)
✔️Last 12 months of electric (and gas, if applicable) bills
✔️Income documentation for all household members age 18+
✔️Renters will need landlord permission
Local contractors are also encouraged to become NCDEQ‑certified so work can stay within the community.
Together, we can help more families in Gates County have safer, more comfortable, and energy‑efficient homes.
