This Sunday at 10am, I will begin a 3 part series of lessons from Romans 12. The title is "Where Do You Fit In?". We will look at the spiritual gifts listed in that passage and see what the Word says about them. This will be livestreamed. Then our regular worship time at 11am as well. I hope you can join us. Last night I started preaching on "The Glorious Gospel of Christ". As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:1 "Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not". Make your mind up today---By the help of the Lord you will not faint!

The memory of the just is blessed, but the name of the wicked shall rot. Proverbs 10:7
Some memories and names simply rot away in our minds. But other memories and names are a blessing. Our homecoming yesterday was great all around. Great singing, great preaching, and the Lord surely met with us. We had a wonderful meal, and I enjoyed seeing everyone that attended. But, with each passing year there is sadness for me at services like this. I'm blessed with great memories, but I missed a lot of folks yesterday. Some were missed because of sickness. Some were missed because they are in Heaven. I'll treasure their memory today. And I'll rejoice knowing that the best homecoming service is yet to come! Have a great start to your week today.

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. 2 Corinthians 10:18
Again, we shouldn’t make a bad measurement and think we are above others. If so, it’s likely we will “commend” ourselves. In other words, we might give ourselves a big pat on the back and we might lift ourselves higher than we need to be. Instead, we should let the Lord do that. He is really the only One who can “approve” us. Do you have His stamp or seal of approval? If you do, rejoice in what He has done for you. If you don’t, and you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus please turn to Him. You are a sinner---Admit that and repent of it. He died for your sins and rose again to bring salvation----Believe that in your heart, and Confess that He is your Lord with your mouth. That’s the simple A-B-C’s of getting His approval---why don’t you do that today?

But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 2 Corinthians 10:17
As we discussed in the last post, don’t make a bad measurement. Don’t glory in yourself or how you compare to others. But you can glory in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As Paul wrote in Galatians 6:14, God forbid that we would glory in anything “save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Yes, I will glory in His trip to Gethsemane where His sweat became as blood. I will glory in His trip before Pilate when they “spit upon Him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the head”. I will glory when they led Him away to crucify Him, and He “became sin for us” on the hill of Calvary. I will glory in His cry, “My God, my God why has thou forsaken me?”, and His final words as He said “It is finished”. And I will glory in the absolute fact that three days later He arose, victorious over death, hell, and the grave! If I had one last message to preach, and one last sermon to share I would preach the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus with glory in my soul! Hallelujah----what a Savior! With tears in my eyes, it’s been an honor just to share this little post!
