How wonderful it is to know that our God blesses us in seasons of joy and seasons of pain. Sometimes we experience hardship in life and all we can ask is, “why?” It’s easy to forget that God’s nature is the only one that can bring us out of the deep places we get stuck in… until He does. He is always right on time, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Our seasons of hardship do not last forever because there is a time for peace. If your situation isn’t good, that means God’s not done yet. He will never be done using you. We were created to love and to be loved by the Creator of the universe. Rest in that truth this week. Have a blessed one.

Genesis 2, as well as Ephesians 5, 1 Corinthians 7, and even portions from The Song of Solomon explains standards for marital relationships. Our list of standards should have God at the top, the One we submit to above and before all else (Exodus 20:3-6). Our second priority should be our spouse. We are commanded to love our spouses just as Christ loved the church and to submit ourselves to them (Ephesians 5:25). A man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord, and a woman will love and respect her husband if he loves her as he loves himself (Proverbs 18:22, Ephesians 5:33). Marriage was the designed by God right before the fall in chapter 3 of Genesis as a holy union that resembles His love for us. As we start this new week, glory to God, let us search for ways to grow and deepen our relationships in a way that pleases God. Praise be unto the Father and unto the Son and unto the Holy Spirit now and forever until the ages of ages, amen.

…Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week, come out tomorrow night for a bible study in the ranger room at 6pm!

Jehovah Immeka means “the Lord is with you.” How encouraging is it to know the Lord, God of the universe is always with us, each one— personally? We see this promise, not only in Deuteronomy 31 but in Judges 6 as well, when an angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said, “The Lord is with you.” Not with Gideon’s people, not with his nation, but God was with him personally. Trust and rely on God that we can do what He has called us to do because of who He is. We hear this same encouragement in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” As we remember these promises in scripture, remember to be strong and courageous and trust God. He promises to never forsake you and that He has already went before you. Keep a spirit of thanksgiving in your hearts this week as we continue to grow in the Lord. Also remember to bring a friend to the prayer breakfast on Saturday! Have a blessed week.

Jehova Tsidkenu means ‘the Lord is our righteousness.’ We are often taught that our lack of control over our lives is a negative thing. However, there is only One who remains in control. If we can’t have constant control, how can we provide our righteousness? The honest answer is that we don’t. We do not obtain righteousness on our own terms. Jesus fulfilled the law so that we may become righteous through Him— not around Him or above Him. We cannot do anything on our own to be counted as righteous in the eyes of God. We are not expected to “be enough” for Him. He knows that we are not capable of providing our own righteousness or holiness. Remember that He loves you this week. Tell someone you love them. Have a blessed week.

We, the children of God, are called to be set apart and live for Him. To be set apart is to be holy. There is a common misconception surrounding the idea of holiness that suggests that through our works, we can become holy. This, however, is false. Instead, we must accept God’s authority and follow these three steps: realize that we are called to be set apart, have a willingness to let God use us in the way He wants to, and then allow the grace He shows us to empower us to strive and work for His kingdom. By doing this, we can submit ourselves more to His will and allow Him to purify us as believers. Have a blessed week!
