Grace Anglican Church

Grace Anglican Church We are a growing Gaston County church affiliated with the Anglican Church of North America. We meet in the chapel at Place of Refuge.

We now have a youth Sunday School that begins at 9:30 am. Communion service begins at 10:30 am. Our congregation is multi-generational and our worship service, which is traditional, seeks to glorify God and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Children’s Sunday School and childcare are provided. We are reaching out to those seeking a new church family, those seeking an alternative to worship in t

he Anglican tradition by standing on the truth of Scripture, as well as to those who are presently not attending a church.

On Pentecost Sunday, we heard about the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles, but also heard that there is an ongoing Pentecost for us believers today. Find out more below:

What happens when we see that the coming of the Holy Spirit isn’t a one time event in our lives, but an ongoing reality? It’s like the children going to Narnia and breathing the air and finding themselves strengthened for whatever they have been called to do. Likewise, we are called to have an o...

As we move ever closer to Pentecost, we finish our brief time in 1 Peter concluding with St. Peter's reminder to not be surprised at the fiery trial that comes upon us. How are we then to respond to this trail? How do we respond to mockery and persecution in this life? St. Peter, throughout his epistle, but especially here directs us to Christ's suffering and ours being caught up in it so that we can rejoice at his work in us.

As we finish our time in 1 Peter, he tells that there will be fiery trials that happen to us for our testing and that we will be mocked for our faith and tempted to turn away. Yet, St. Peter tells us how to respond to all of this. We are to rejoice in suffering with Christ and find blessing in that

In the midst of the difficulties Christians will face while striving to submit to authorities around them, St. Peter encourages the faithful to bless those who revile them, the defend the hope they have in Christ, and to endure because Christ has endured for them and made a way for their own forgiveness that is to be extended to others.

St. Peter continues to call his readers and us today to faithful obedience. After speaking of various vocations, St. Peter returns to Christians as a whole calling upon us to bless those who would revile, to defend our hope in Christ, and to endure as Christ has already endured because Christ has do

What does it mean to have identity in Christ? How do we live within in that identity? St. Peter gives us a picture of what this looks like in chapter 2 of his first epistle.

As St. Peter writes to believers, he reminds them of their identity in Christ and how they should approach him in order to grow as the people of God. He is not teaching them to be individuals, but emphasizes the reality of the corporate nature of our identity in Christ. Through four pictures, St. Pe
