Church History
Greater United in Faith, formerly known as New Vision of Faith (healing and deliverance ministry), was birthed in 1998. Later on a door was opened on South 321, and from there to Floyd L

n where others joined us, we thus became greater. We knew that the Lord had greater things in store for the ministry, and that He spoke Greater. It was prophesied through Mother Crawford before her passing, that Greater U would be in a church building, and even though she was blind, she saw the layout of the church and stated that we’d have everything we need. After much prayer and fasting in 2005, the prophecy manifested, Greater United relocated and rested on the corner of Calvary and Mountain View. It became a community church under the leadership of Pastor Christine Cathcart who always state that ‘In this house God gets the glory, and God will always get the glory, in THIS house.’
Over the years, we have seen the mighty hand of God, and his power moving within the walls of this church, where many souls being saved, healed, and delivered. And yes we do have yet a greater vision for the ministry while under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Christine Cathcart. Our many thanks and prayers for Brother and Sister Allen who the Lord chose to open the door to us.

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from Matthew 4:19-20 NKJV. “19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.”

SIGN UP FOR CHRIST

Have you ever been shopping at a retail store and the cashier asks if you want to sign up for their rewards program? They’ll tell you about all the benefits—discounts, exclusive deals, bonus points, early access, and perks that come with being connected to the store. But in order to receive the benefits, you actually have to say yes and join.

In this passage of scriptures, when Jesus called Peter and Andrew, He didn’t just invite them to believe in Him—He invited them to follow Him. And attached to that calling was transformation and purpose.

“I will make you…”

Jesus was saying, “If you follow Me, I’ll change you. I’ll shape you. I’ll give your life greater purpose.”

The disciples had to leave behind what was familiar in order to walk into something greater. Their nets represented comfort, routine, and what they already knew. But following Jesus meant trusting Him enough to let go and move forward.

The same is true for us today. Following Jesus is about committing our lives to Him daily. And when we do, there are benefits that come with walking with Him:

Peace in chaos.
Purpose in uncertainty.
Strength in weakness.
And eternal life through Him.

Following Jesus will cost you some old nets—but what He gives in return is far greater.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for calling us to follow You. Give us the courage to leave behind anything that keeps us from fully walking in Your purpose. Shape our hearts, grow our faith, and help us trust You with every step. Let our lives reflect the transformation that comes from following You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a safe and blessed day everyone!

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from II Corinthians 9:7 NKJV. “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

CHEERFUL GIVING

Have you ever received a gift from someone who clearly didn’t want to give it? Maybe they sighed while doing it, complained about the cost, or acted irritated the entire time. Even if the gift itself was valuable, the attitude behind it changed the feeling completely.

Now compare that to someone who gives joyfully—someone who helps because they genuinely want to bless you. Their attitude makes the gift feel even more meaningful.

God isn’t just concerned with what we give—He also cares about the condition of our hearts when we give it.

Whether it’s our time, resources, encouragement, service, or generosity, God desires willingness instead of resentment. He doesn’t want us giving out of pressure, guilt, or obligation, but from a heart that understands how gracious He has already been toward us.

A cheerful giver recognizes something important:You can’t outgive God.

And generosity isn’t always about money. Sometimes giving means showing patience, offering kindness, helping someone in need, or making time for people when it would be easier to focus only on yourself.

God loves when generosity flows from joy instead of reluctance.

The greatest gifts aren’t just measured by what’s given—but by the heart behind it.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to give with joyful and willing hearts. Remove any bitterness, pressure, or selfishness from us, and teach us to reflect Your generosity in the way we serve and bless others. Let our giving come from gratitude and love, honoring You in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a safe and blessed day everyone!

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from Ruth 1:16 NKJV. “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people,And your God, my God.”

WHERE YOU GO, I’LL GO

You’ve probably heard people use the phrases “ride or die” or “down for whatever.” At their core, those phrases describe loyalty—someone who’s committed enough to stick with you through good times, hard times, uncertainty, and sacrifice. It’s the kind of bond that says, “I’m not leaving when things get difficult.”

That kind of loyalty is beautifully reflected in what Ruth said in this passage.

This was said to Naomi during one of the hardest seasons of their lives. Naomi had lost her husband and her sons, and Ruth had every reason to walk away and return to what was familiar. But instead, Ruth chose loyalty.

She chose relationship over convenience. Commitment over comfort. Faithfulness over selfishness.

Ruth’s words weren’t just emotional—they were backed by action. She stayed when it would have been easier to leave.

That kind of faithfulness matters to God. In a world where people often walk away when things get hard, Ruth reminds us of the power of staying committed—with God and with the people He’s placed in our lives.

Real loyalty isn’t proven when things are easy—it’s revealed when things get hard.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to be people of loyalty, faithfulness, and commitment. Teach us to love deeply and to stand firm through difficult seasons. Strengthen our relationships and help us reflect the same faithfulness You show toward us every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a safe and blessed day everyone!

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from II Timothy 1:7 NKJV. ““For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

CALLED TO COURAGE

Have you ever watched someone go bungee jumping or skydiving? Right before they leap, you can see the fear hit them. Their heart is racing, their mind is screaming “don’t do it,” and every instinct is telling them to stay where it feels safe. But eventually, they have to make a decision: let fear control them or trust the process and take the leap.

A lot of us live life the same way spiritually. Fear tries to keep us stuck—afraid to step out, afraid to trust God, afraid to move forward because we can’t control the outcome.

Fear does not come from God. The enemy uses fear to paralyze us, discourage us, and keep us from walking in what God has called us to do. But God gives us something different:

Power to face what’s in front of us.Love that drives out fear and keeps our hearts grounded. And a sound mind so fear doesn’t take over our thinking.

That doesn’t mean we’ll never feel nervous or uncertain. Even courageous people feel fear sometimes. The difference is they don’t let fear make their decisions for them.

Faith says, “Even though I’m nervous, I trust God enough to move forward anyway.”

Courage is not the absence of fear—it’s choosing to trust God more than your fear.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for not giving us a spirit of fear. Help us to walk in the power, love, and sound mind You’ve given us. When fear tries to hold us back, remind us that You are with us every step of the way. Give us courage to trust You and move forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from Hebrews 6:19 NKJV. “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,”

THE ULTIMATE ANCHOR

When a boat is out on the water, the anchor becomes incredibly important. Winds can shift, waves can rise, and currents can try to pull the boat off course. But when the anchor is secure, it keeps the boat grounded and steady even in rough conditions. The storm may still rage around it, but the anchor helps keep it from drifting away.

Life has a way of creating storms—unexpected problems, disappointments, fear, uncertainty, and seasons that test our faith. Without something solid to hold onto, it’s easy to drift emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

But our hope in God is meant to function like an anchor for the soul.

Not wishful thinking. Not temporary optimism. But a steady confidence in God’s promises and His faithfulness.

An anchor doesn’t stop the storm—it stabilizes you in the middle of it.

And when your hope is anchored in God, you can remain steady even when life around you feels unstable.

Storms may shake you, but when your hope is anchored in God, they don’t have to move you.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the anchor for our souls. In difficult seasons, help us remain steady and grounded in You. When fear, uncertainty, or hardship tries to pull us away, remind us of Your promises and Your faithfulness. Strengthen our hope and keep our hearts fixed on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from Galatians 5:16 NKJV. “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

WALK IT OUT…WITH THE SPIRIT

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to drift into bad habits when you’re not being intentional? If you stop exercising, eventually your body feels it. If you stop maintaining a relationship, distance begins to grow. Whatever we consistently feed and follow usually becomes stronger over time.

The same is true spiritually.

In this passage, Paul is teaching us that our spiritual walk is not Paul is teaching us that our spiritual walk is not passive—it’s daily and intentional. To “walk in the Spirit” means living in step with God, allowing His presence, His Word, and His guidance to direct our decisions and desires.

The flesh represents our human nature—the impulses that pull us away from God. But the more we walk with God, the stronger our spirit becomes and the less control those unhealthy desires have over us.

Notice the verse doesn’t just say “fight the flesh.” It says walk in the Spirit.

Because when your focus is on pursuing God, it changes what you crave, how you think, and how you live.

Every day we choose what we’re feeding: our flesh or our spirit. And whatever we feed most will influence us most.

The closer you walk with God, the easier it becomes to walk away from things that pull you from Him.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to walk in Your Spirit daily. Strengthen us to resist the desires that pull us away from You, and guide our hearts toward what is good and pleasing in Your sight. Let our lives reflect Your presence in the way we think, speak, and live. Draw us closer to You every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen. passive—it’s daily and intentional. To “walk in the Spirit” means living in step with God, allowing His presence, His Word, and His guidance to direct our decisions and desires.

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from I John 4:1 NKJV. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

TEST IT OUT

Have you ever watched a cashier take one of those special markers and swipe it across a large bill? The purpose is simple—to test whether the money is real or counterfeit. Because no matter how convincing a fake bill may look, businesses know they can’t afford to accept something just because it appears genuine on the surface.

In today’s world, there are many voices, influences, teachings, and opinions competing for our attention. Not everything that sounds spiritual is from God. Not everything that looks good is good for us.

That’s why God calls us to use discernment.

Just like the cashier tests the bill before accepting it, believers must test what they hear against God’s Word and God’s character.

Does it align with Scripture? Does it produce good fruit? Does it draw people closer to God or further away from Him?

Discernment is not about living in fear or suspicion—it’s about walking in wisdom.

God never intended for His people to blindly accept everything presented to them. He gave us His Spirit and His Word so we could recognize truth from counterfeit.

Everything that looks real isn’t real—stay rooted in God’s Word so you can recognize the difference.

Prayer:
Lord, give us discernment in a world full of competing voices. Help us to test everything through the lens of Your Word and Your Spirit. Protect our hearts and minds from deception, and guide us in truth. Let us grow in wisdom and remain grounded in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from I Thessalonians 5:11 NIV. “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

ENCOURAGEMENT

In the movie The Replacements, Shane Falco and his teammates weren’t the first choice. They were overlooked, doubted, and underestimated. But what helped transform that team wasn’t just talent—it was encouragement. Little by little, they started believing in each other. They pushed one another forward, lifted each other up after failures, and became stronger because they stopped tearing each other down.

Life is hard enough without believers discouraging one another. God calls us to be people who strengthen others with our words, our support, and our presence.

Sometimes one encouraging word can keep someone from giving up. Sometimes a simple reminder that “you got this” can help someone keep going. Sometimes people don’t need criticism—they need community.

The enemy loves isolation, but God works through encouragement.

We never fully know what someone is carrying internally, which is why our words matter so much. We have the ability to either add weight to someone’s struggle or help lift it.

Be the kind of person who builds people up, not tears them down. Encouragement can change more than you realize.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to encourage others the way You encourage us. Let our words bring life, hope, and strength to those around us. Teach us to build others up instead of tearing them down. Use us to remind people that they are seen, valued, and loved by You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning everyone! Today’s morning inspirational scripture comes from John 5:1-9 NKJV. “1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.

5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” 7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” 8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.”

TAKE UP YOUR BED AND WALK

Have you ever been waiting on something for so long that disappointment started to feel normal? Maybe it was a prayer you’ve prayed for years, a door you hoped would open, or a situation you kept believing would change. After enough delays and setbacks, people can start adjusting to surviving instead of expecting transformation.

That’s the atmosphere surrounding the man in the Gospel of John.

For thirty-eight years, this man had been unable to walk. Day after day he sat by the Pool of Bethesda, hoping for a chance to be healed, but always feeling overlooked and left behind. When Jesus approached him and asked, “Do you want to be made well?” the man responded with reasons why he couldn’t get help in time.

But Jesus didn’t focus on the excuses, the delays, or the years that had passed. He spoke directly to the situation:

“Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

In one moment, Jesus interrupted a cycle that had lasted nearly four decades.

This passage reminds us that no situation is too far gone for God. What feels delayed to us is not impossible for Him. And sometimes, before God changes our situation, He first challenges our mindset—because it’s hard to walk into freedom while still thinking like you’re stuck.

Jesus called the man to rise, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually too.

Don’t let years of disappointment convince you that change can’t happen—Jesus still has the power to tell you to rise.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for seeing us even in seasons where we feel forgotten or stuck. Help us not to lose hope in the middle of long waits and difficult situations. Strengthen our faith to respond when You call us to rise. Break every cycle of discouragement and lead us into the healing and freedom You have for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a safe and blessed day everyone!
