Wonderful to welcome Shabbat with:

Student Rabbi Jacob Friedman is currently the summer rabbinic intern at Charlotte's Temple Beth El. His visit to Temple Emanuel is part of our effort to build ties with the wider Jewish community--and Jacob is thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know the Jewish community in Gastonia.

A rising third-year rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College in New York, Jacob is originally from Southern California and is a graduate of Indiana University. As the summer intern at TBE, Jacob is involved in many different parts of congregational life, from life cycle events and pastoral care, to education and leading worship. He will bring to us his love of Jewish music, his passion for theology, and his deep interest in Jewish thought and mysticism.
