We recieved a grant in partnership with the Mustard Seed Center in Gary, Indiana. The grant is for a children's garden. The raised garden walls were built today. Thanks Pastor Martha for joining with us.

At Church of Gary Covenant Church we are community minded. On 2nd Saturdays we give away food and clothing. We also pray with and for all who come. Join us as we minister to our neighbors from 11am to 1pm.
We also love our children and have an exciting GOOD NEWS CLUB every fourth Saturday and Youth Sunday every fourth Sunday...come join us!

Freedom School is officially over for 2024! It was challenging, but important! Our kids need to understand our struggles and our victories. They need to be loved on and encouraged. They need good mentors and examples of what loving God and loving people look like. We did all we could to show them they matter. They are gifts not consequences.

I would like to encourage my friends and family to come out and Walk for Freedom on Juneteenth morning, June 19th at 31st Street Beach in Chicago at 9am. This is a 2.5-mile walk representing the 2.5 years it took for the slaves in Texas to find out they were free. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! Walk for Justice, Walk for Honor, Walk for Dignity, Walk for Love, Walk for Family, Walk for Equality, Walk for Unity. This is not a day long activity. It is a morning activity therefore you will have the rest of your day to do whatever you want to do. Visit www.thejja.org/walk-for-freedom to learn more and register and/or volunteer. I can't think of a better thing to do on Juneteenth day than to walk in honor of our ancestors.
