Progressive Community Church International A Church On The Move The Progressive Missionary Baptist Church celebrates its 55th Year Church Anniversary, serving God's people. Douglas. where Rev. J.J.

We thank God for the sacrifice and labor of so many before us. They have afforded us the opportunity to continue in the service of the Lord through various ministries. The true spirit of the Progressive Family has been blessed to continue these ministries, which were started under the leadership of Pastor Benjamin F. The church moved to 2256 Washington St. Douglas was called as its first Pastor. T

his church was organized under the guidance of Rev. Overstreet and Council of Christian Ministers. Under the leadership of Pastor Douglas, the Church grew and prospered. Based on the growth of the church, it was unanimously agreed and accepted to purchase and relocate to our present location, 656 Carolina St. in April 1978. At this time the membership had grown to over 300 members, and the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church was a viable entity to a culturally changing community. Pastor Douglas had a lingering illness and some injuries, which kept him out of the pulpit for more time than he cared to be. The church has experienced some difficult changes and hardships over the years, such as the Church splintering, but the faithful remained. Pastor Douglas had the opportunity to call as his Co-Pastor, Rev. Bennie Hartfield, Jr. in December 1995. Pastor Hartfield worked closely and faithfully with Pastor Douglas in the rich heritage that this Church has been blessed with, until Douglas' home going on February 19, 1996. As our history continues to be written, the Progressive M.B. Church Family called as their second Pastor in the history of this church, Pastor Bennie Hartfield, Jr. on April 14, 1996. The Church continues to grow in its various ministries and rebuilding the membership. The heritage continues to prosper under the leadership of Pastor Hartfield, with a strong commitment to Evangelism, Soul Winning, Community Outreach and Social Concerns. The Lord has blessed us to add more ministries as the Progressive family continues to do the work of Kingdom Building. The Lord has given the Vision to our Pastor and allowed him to as the following ministries: The Church Financial Ministry, Trustee Ministry, Jr. Trustee Ministry, Sr. & Jr. Armor Bearer Ministry, Sr. & Jr. Laymen's Ministry, Mother's Ministry, Affirming Children/ After Care (AC/AC) Ministry, Nurturing the Total Family (NTTF), Families Anchored in Total Harmony (FAITH), Faith Works, Generational Educational Motivational Skills (GEMS), Discipleship Training Class 101 & 102, Computer Lab, Benevolence/Funeral Ministry, Beautification Ministry and The Pastor's Aid Ministry.

Learning How to Fight the Battles that can’t be seen!

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

How to experience a move of God!

Acts 2:1-4 ESV

The Coming of the Holy Spirit
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

A Call for Help

Psalms 132

A SONG OF DEGREES.
LORD, remember David,
and all his afflictions:
How he sware unto the LORD,
and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house,
nor go up into my bed;
I will not give sleep to mine eyes,
or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I find out a place for the LORD,
an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah:
we found it in the fields of the wood.
We will go into his tabernacles:
we will worship at his footstool.
Arise, O LORD, into thy rest;
thou, and the ark of thy strength.
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness;
and let thy saints shout for joy.
For thy servant David's sake
turn not away the face of thine anointed.
The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David;
he will not turn from it;
Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
If thy children will keep my covenant
and my testimony that I shall teach them,
their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
For the LORD hath chosen Zion;
he hath desired it for his habitation.
This is my rest for ever:
here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
I will abundantly bless her provision:
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation:
and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
There will I make the horn of David to bud:
I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
His enemies will I clothe with shame:
but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
