By now you have seen the news about the disaster unfolding in Afghanistan. The scenes of chaos are heartbreaking. Furthermore, we know that the Taliban have a history of treating women, children, and Christians with utter contempt and violence. So how can we pray for Afghanistan at a time like this?
1. Pray that the violence would stop and all people would be spared the violence and wrath of the Taliban.
2. Pray that even in a terrible time like this that the Christian church would be spared and that the gospel would go forth.
3. Pray that in the name of Jesus Christ that evil would be overcome and God's good will would be done.
4. Pray for all the U.S. military forces and other personnel that they would be safe and they would be able to perform their duties without harm befalling them.
5. Pray that God would give our President, politicians. military leaders wisdom to know how to respond to this terrible tragedy.
6. Pray that every single effort by the Taliban to hunt down and hurt people would be stopped and those running from them would find shelter and the care that they so desperately need.
