Church Service Cancelled — Sunday, August 16

Dear Church Family,

Due to damage from the recent storms, the church is still without power, and trees continue to block the entrance. For the safety of everyone, Sunday worship service will be cancelled on August 16, 2026.

Although we will not be able to gather in person, we will have a Prayer Call for those who would like to join us in prayer and fellowship.

⚠️IMPORTANT UPDATE — 8/12/26⚠️

St. John Baptist Church and much of the surrounding community remain without power. In light of the continued outage, along with the City of Gary and Mayor Eddie Melton’s declaration of a local state of emergency, we have made the decision to cancel in-person Bible Study this evening.

The safety and well-being of our church family remain our priority. With this in mind, Rev. Anthony Frazier will hold Bible Study virtually this evening at 5:30 P.M. To join, please dial 708-996-1170.

We ask everyone to please pass this information along to those who may not see this post.

Due to the inclement weather, resulting power outages, and hazardous road conditions caused by downed power lines, trees and tree limbs in the area surrounding the church, tonight’s Mid-Year Church Meeting has been canceled.

The safety and well-being of our church family is our priority. We ask everyone to please remain safe and use caution as cleanup and power restoration efforts begin.

Information regarding a rescheduled date will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
