⛪ 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Homily (Fr. Brian Isenbarger)

In last Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus gives Peter the keys to His Kingdom. This week—just a few verses later—He calls Peter “Satan,” telling him, “You are not thinking as God does, but as human beings do.” In his homily, Fr. Brian tells us that “the most liberating and freeing sign of our faith” is the cross and that we must remember to cling to it for victory.

Plus, we catch a glimpse at the church's new Mary and St. John the Apostle statues!

⛪ 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time Homily (Fr. Brian Isenbarger)

Much like the resounding authority of Jesus present in last week's Gospel, this week's Sunday homily surrounds the authority passed down by Jesus to the Church. By His authority is Peter ordained as the rock and lasting vitality of the Church throughout the ages. And even after centuries of persecution, oppression, and other anti-Catholic political movements, the Church remains a bright beacon of hope for all.

Fr. Brian concludes:
1️⃣ Remain united to the Church and her sacraments by frequenting Communion and Confession.
2️⃣ Remain close to the Church of Christ —the very rock of our salvation.

Exciting news! We are putting the pews back in! Tonight’s 4:30PM Mass will still take place in Bennet Hall, and tomorrow’s Masses are planned to take place back in the church. Look at the beautiful new tile floor!

Registration is now open for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd—an educational, Montessori-based approach to religious formation for children in which a relationship with Christ, the Good Shepherd, is encouraged in a prepared, hands-on environment called the “Atrium.”

This fall, we're offering the program to children ages 3 and 4. Please note that children must be potty-trained. Choose between two times for classes:
➡️Sundays, 9:15AM–10:15AM
➡️Sundays, 11:30AM–12:30PM

Introductory sessions begin Sunday, September 13. Register your child by emailing or calling us!

‼️UPDATE‼️ Due to church renovations, altar server training this weekend has been canceled. Stay posted for rescheduling updates.

Altar server training will take place on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, a half hour before and after each Mass (our weekend Mass times are 4:30PM on Saturday, 8AM on Sunday, and 10:30AM on Sunday).
