Good Tuesday Morning!

Wipe the sleep from your eyes, shake off the chills, and embrace the improving temps! OH YEAH!

Just wanted to take a minute to share a couple of reminders and updates with everyone. If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns please reach out to me.

Wednesday 01/24/2024 HANGTIME!!!!!!! That's right, it is back! Bring them hungry because we will have hot food ready and waiting; homemade country chicken noodle soup, crackers, chips, desserts and plenty of good conversation.

Sunday 01/28/2024 Acts. Students have been asked to read pages 4-10 in their study guide in preparation for the discussion Sunday morning.

Friday 02/09/2024 Winter Jam! We only have four spots left. We will meet at the church at 5:30 pm. e will have our traditional BoJangles tailgate event to kickoff the evening before the concert. The show starts at 7 pm; we will keep all parents updated on our departure from the event and arrival back at the church via text.

WHOOP WHOOP WELCOME TO MONDAY!

Let's not let that fire that we ignited on Sunday during our time of worship be extinguished by anything that comes our way this week! Not A Chance! OH no, we want to carry that same passion and energy with us all week long; sharing the name of Jesus Christ everywhere that we are!

SUNDAY MORNINGS
We have started our journey into The Book of Acts or Acts of the Apostles. On 01/14 we will finish the introduction section of our study guide as we prepare to really dig in.

LOOK AHEAD

01/24 Wednesday 630-800 We will have HANGTIME! This particular Wednesday evening we will have a home cooked meal, play some games and spend time together hanging out.

02/09 Friday WINTER JAM 2024!
Cost: $15.00 cash at the door. There are no advance ticket sales.
Students will need money for snacks and souvenirs.
Meet at the church 5:00 pm. We have rented a van and will all ride together.
We will tailgate BoJangles before going in to curb their appetites a little anyway!
We will keep parents updated about our return time via the BAND App. as well as personal text. It is typically close to 11:30 pm when we get back to the church.

This will be an amazing night of worship with some of the best in the Christian entertainment industry:

New Song
and others!

The sign up sheet will be in the Youth Room this week. We only have 15 spots!

WHAT A STRETCH, WHAT A RUN, IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE WE HAVE GOTTEN TOGETHER TO SHARE SOME FUN! WELL THE HOLIDAYS ARE PAST BUT DON'T BE BLUE...JESUS STILL WANTS TO DEEPEN THAT RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU!

IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS SINCE WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET TOGETHER FOR A WEDNESDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP MEETING OR FOR OUR REGULAR SUNDAY MORNING TIME. I PRAY THAT EVERYONE ENJOYED THE TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS WE CELEBRATED THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST FIRST AND THEN, JUST WELCOMED IN THE NEW YEAR!

WITH THAT, WE WILL BE MEETING TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, 01/03 AT OUR NORMAL TIME: 630-800PM.

WE WILL RESUME MEETING SUNDAY MORNINGS AT OUR NORMAL TIME 930-1045 BEGINNING THIS SUNDAY 01/07.

BEGINNING THIS SUNDAY, AND EVERY SUNDAY MORNING MOVING FORWARD WE WILL BE WORKING OUR WAY THROUGH THE BOOK OF ACTS.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR TOPICAL DISCUSSIONS AND ANY TOPICS THAT THE STUDENTS BRING UP.

ON 01/24 WE WILL HAVE A HANGTIME MEAL, GAMES AND PRIZES!

This is being lost in today's society. We are exposing our children to things at such a young age. Why can't we just let them be little.

What an amazing time of year! My beloved summer heat has given way to the cool crisp fall temps and the vibrant colors of the falling leaves. As we enter this holiday season may our thanks be more abundant than our requests.

WHAT ARE WE STUDYING ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?

Sunday 11/26 we will close out our in-depth study of the Gospel of Luke. We will cover Luke 24: 50-53, The Ascension of Jesus.

For the entire month of December we will be discussing the coming of a Messiah and the birth of Jesus.

January 07,2024 we will start our new study in Acts.

LOOKING AHEAD:

12/06/2023 Wednesday: Scrooge @ Spiritual Twist. $10 per person, we have eight ticket available. The sign up sheet is posted in the Youth Room. We will meet at the church at 6:15 and leave promptly after that. The show starts at 7:00 pm and will end around 9:30 pm. Students will need cash for any snacks that they want at the intermission. We will be back at the church by 9:50 pm.

02/09/2024 Friday: Winter Jam @ PNC Arena! $15 cash entrance fee to be paid at the door. Each student will need to have money for any additional food, drinks, and/or souvenirs that they want to purchase. We will be renting a van so that we can all ride together. We will meet at the church at 5:30 and tailgate in the parking lot prior to going into the show. This will be a late night. The concerts typically do not end until 11:00 pm or after and then we still have to drive back to the church. The line-up for the 2024 show is Crowder, Lecrae, Cain, Katy Nichole, Seventh Day Slumber, and New Song. This will be an amazing night!

So far these are the only two scheduled activities. There will certainly be more added and they will be included on future posts.

GOOD MORNING FAM! RISE AND SHINE, GRAB YOUR COFFEE AND GREET THE DAY!

No kidding we are halfway through October already. Hard to believe but only like 10 more weekends till Christmas. WHOOOP WHOOOP!

A big thank you to everyone that helped to make the Fall Festival a success. We. had a great turn out. So many happy faces from the community came to take part in the fun, get some food, and bounce a bit. We were blessed to be able to engage in some great conversations and share some special prayers.

One of the greatest things about being a part of the Youth Group is that the fun does not stop simple because the weather changes. So here is a look at what is on the calendar for the remainder of the month of October:

Wednesday 10/18 6:30-8:00 pm: Youth Group gathering. We will be continuing our discussion on how to live the "Real" Christian life.

Saturday 10/21 9:00-8:00 pm: Youth Group day at the NC State Fair. We will meet at the church Saturday at 9:00 in the morning. Please try to purchase your admission and ride tickets in advance to save time at the gate. It will be a long day so dressing in layers is a great idea. Be sure that your student has funds for food and drinks.

Sunday 10/22 9:30-10:45 am: Youth Small Group. This Sunday we will continue our time in the Gospel of Luke discussing 23:44-49.

Wednesday 10/25 6:30-8:00 pm: Youth Group gathering. As we are quickly approaching the holiday season, we will take this Wednesday night to take a look at the calendar and discuss some of the events that may or may not make the calendar for the remainder of this year! We will call this Plan-O-Rama Night!

Sunday 10/29 9:00-10:45 am: Youth Small Group. YOUTH SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please have the Youth at the church at 9:00 so that we can practice with the praise team. We will have our normal small group time immediately following the Praise Team practice. Right after the service is the Senior/Youth Luncheon. As many of you have already heard, we have decided to do a Low Country Boil. I really need lots of help with this one. I have one burner and big pot, but we need at least one more. Robby Tillson was kind enough to offer to cook in my place, and man am I glad, but we are going to need some more folks that know what to do with shrimp.... We have a great recipe, so I am told, and will be gathering the ingredients. So if you can help with drinks, desserts, and or cooking please let me know. All Senior adults, Youth and their families, and staff are invited to share in this meal but we need everyone that wants to attend to please sign up on the sheet outside of the Youth Room.

Know that I am praying for each of you.If there is anything that I can do to help you or a specific prayer need that you have don't hesitate to reach out to me.

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
