Breakaway 2026 is officially underway! 🎉

For more than 30 years, youth from across the North Carolina Conference have gathered for this beloved week of faith, friendship, and community. This year, more than 200 youth have come together to worship and grow in faith!

Through worship, small groups, fellowship, and faith formation experiences, students will discover that “You’ve Got a Friend” in Jesus and in the people they meet throughout the week.

This week, participants will also elect and select student leaders who will serve on the Conference Youth Council (C*C), helping shape and lead Conference Youth Ministries throughout the coming year.

Please keep these youth, their leaders, and the Breakaway staff in your prayers this week! 💙

Breakaway 2026: You’ve Got a Friend 🤝💙

Breakaway is more than just a week-long event. It’s a place where friendships are formed, faith grows deeper and youth from across the conference come together to worship, laugh, lead, serve, and experience God together.

This summer, we’ll gather June 22–27 at Louisburg College for a week centered around community, connection and learning what it means to “Love Thy Neighbor as Yourself.” Matthew 22:34–39

If you’re in grades 6–12, we want YOU there. Invite your friends, your youth group, or come ready to meet new people from across the NCCUMC. Some of the best friendships start at Breakaway ❤️

Breakaway 2026: You’ve Got a Friend in Me!

Global Vision 2026!
We had an incredible four days in Washington, DC, where we focused on our topic of Religious Persecution. We began our trip exploring the city, and spent the next day visiting monuments, the National Museum of Natural History, and the Holocaust Memorial Museum. The Holocaust Memorial Museum was especially powerful, giving us a look at the impact of persecution.

Our third day was spent at the Museum of the Bible, where we saw the influence of scripture and got to experience the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. On our final day, we visited the National Museum of American History before heading home.

We had such an amazing time! We learned so much, grew closer as a group, and left with a better understanding of the world around us!
