Sorry, it takes so long to verify sermon recordings and then upload them to our website.
Here is the link to my sermon on the Problem of Suffering, given 12/27/2020:

December 27, 2020 Bible Text: | Jay HessSeries: Contemporary Apologetics The God of the Bible is described as allowing and causing massive amounts of death and suffering. But this same God is described as being good and all-powerful? How can this be true? Here are three modern examples that show wha...

In our Apologetics class we will be selecting from these questions:

On the Character of God
1. Why does God allow believers to suffer?
2. Why does God allow non-believers (people in general) to suffer?
3. Why does God allow little children to suffer from horrible diseases and then die?
4. How do we answer the objection: ‘If my parents treated me the way God treats people I would have them arrested!’?
5. Will God send little children who did not know Him to hell to suffer forever?
6. Will God send people who never knew Him to hell to suffer forever?
7. Will God torture anyone in hell forever?
8. Why are people born with inclinations that God says are wrong and deserve eternal judgment?
9. Why does the Bible teach that even though some sins do not seem that bad those who do them deserve eternal judgment?

Specific questions about the God of the Old Testament:
10. Did God require Jephthah to offer his daughter up as a burnt sacrifice (Judges 11)?
11. Did God’s Law require fathers to sell their daughters for a ‘bride price’?
12. Did God’s Law force women to stay married to abusive husbands?
13. Why did God insist on a death-penalty for such as breaking the Sabbath (cursing parents, rebellious child, Uzzah touching the ark)?
14. How could a loving and good God could inspire Psalm 137?
15. Was the God of the Old Testament loving when he commanded ancient Israel to wipe out the Canaanites including children?
16. Did the God of the Old Testament support a form of slavery that included beatings?
17. Did the God of the Old Testament require r**e victims to marry the ra**st?
18. Why did God forbid wearing clothes of mixed threads or planting mixed crops in the same field?

Other questions:
19. Is the universe really only 7,000 years old?
20. Are modern translations of the Bible accurate?
21. Are Christians always supposed to obey the civil Government?
22. Is the whole Bible relevant to modern everyday life?
23. If Christianity is the right path to God, why are there so many hypocrites in it?

April 25, 2021 Bible Text: 1 Timothy 2:11-15 | Jay HessSeries: Book of 1 Corinthians We now face questions regarding who can teach in a church? Some believe it is restricted to males. Some think women can be pastors and elders. Some choose which view they believe based on which view they like the mo...
