St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church is celebrating the 4th anniversary of our new church building!

Come and taste Ukrainian food and enjoy live music

Saturday, September 19th with preorder ready to pick up from 11:00 AM till 3:00 PM; and hot food ready to eat on site or take home and enjoy starting at noon.
8312 White Oak Rd, Garner, NC 27529

Fresh, locally made kielbasa, borsht, potato/cheddar pierogi – Pyrohy, stuffed cabbage – holubtsi, cooked for dining in or frozen for take-out. We will also have an amazing variety of homemade baked goods. Preorder on this site https://sophies-shoppe.square.site/

We will accept all forms of payment — cash, checks, or credit cards. As in the past, proceeds from the event will benefit our church and grounds improvement. Our Church is beautiful and will be open for tours and visitation during the celebration.

We are happy to announce our next Varenyky (Pierogi) Making Day!!! You can show what you know or learn how to make these famous Ukrainian delicacies and help others in preparation for our Praznyk Bake Sale on Saturday, September 19th! You will also (of course) be able to try these delicious items created with your own hands!
Be ready to meet new friends!

Archpriest Very Reverend Archpriest (Marine) Mark William Shuey, our beloved priest, husband, father, spiritual shepherd, and servant of the Catholic community, has entered into eternal rest at his home on August 9, 2026.
Today we were honored to have our amazing Bishop Bohdan Danylo and Bishop Kurt Burnette concelebrating at his funeral service at the beautiful St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest, NC. You can see the love Bishop Bohdan had for +Father Mark in homily by the look on his face as he looked at the casket in the below picture and he shared his thoughts. His look at +Fr. Mark reflected the love that we all share and will always have for Him, Dawn and his family. We were fortunate to have Father Mark at the beginning of our faith community and throughout and are grateful to have Bishop Bohdan as our inspiration and spiritual shepherd.
