Who was Saint Teresa of Calcutta?

🙏 She was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu and felt God’s call from a very young age. At 18, she left her family to follow Him and never returned home.

✨ In 1946, she received what she called “the call within the call”: to dedicate her life to the poorest of the poor.

👗 From that moment, she wore her simple white sari with blue stripes, which became a symbol of service and humility.

👩‍🍼 In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity, who today serve in over 139 countries, caring for the sick, orphans, and people in need.

🏆 She received over 120 awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

💙 Though she was only 1.52 m tall, her heart was immense. Her life reminds us that greatness is not in physical strength, but in love and compassion.

The Magnificat: Mary’s prayer that transforms the heart

When the Virgin Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, this song of praise flowed from her soul: the Magnificat (Lk 1:46-55). In it, Mary recognizes the greatness of God and teaches us to live with gratitude, humility, and trust.

The Church prays it every evening at Vespers, joining in Mary’s joy as she proclaims: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”

👉 Praying the Magnificat helps us see life through the eyes of faith:
🌟 By giving thanks for what God has done in us
✝️ By recognizing His mercy in the midst of our struggles
🙌 By trusting that, just as with Mary, He also fulfills His promises in our lives

Members of our Good Shepherd community traveled to Monterrey, Mexico, to take part in the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Fuego Nuevo Community.

We’re celebrating 15 years of priestly ministry!

With great joy, our parish community invites you to celebrate this special anniversary with Fr. Javier and Fr. Israel.

⛪ 6:00 PM – Anniversary Mass
The Mass is open to everyone.

🍽️ 7:00 PM – Reception at The Atrium
🎟️ Tickets: $30 per person
Dinner and non-alcoholic beverages included.

Reception tickets are available at the Parish Office and after Sunday Masses.
